    摘要: A light emitting device and a manufacturing method thereof and a display used the light emitting device, in which fine patterning for the light emitting device is realized by a simple process and the light leakage is prevented and the efficiency at extracting light is increased, are provided. The light emitting device provides an organic electroluminescent (EL) device in which electrodes and a luminescent layer are formed, a diffraction grating or a zone plate, and a filter. Light emitted from the luminescent layer transmits through the diffraction grating or the zone plate, which is formed with a designated grating pitch, or is reflected at the diffraction grating or the zone plate. With this, the transmitting or reflecting light is controlled to be in a designated angle region. And when the light is transmitted through the filter, light having different color tone and chromaticity from those of the light emitted from the luminescent layer is extracted.

    摘要: In a light-emitting device comprising an organic electroluminescent device including one or more organic thin layers (at least including a light-emitting layer) which are sandwiched between a transparent first electrode formed on a light-transmitting substrate and a second electrode, the light-transmitting substrate is formed so as to include parts for reflecting light emitted by the organic electroluminescent device (corresponding to a pixel) and thereby preventing the light from entering adjacent pixel areas. The light-transmitting substrate is formed of material having a refractive index of 1.65 or more or a refractive index higher than that of the light-emitting layer. A surface of the light-transmitting substrate opposite to the first electrode is provided with a light-diffusing function for avoiding total reflection. By such composition, a light-emitting device with no light leakage and excellent light extraction efficiency can be realized and thereby a high-intensity low-voltage-driven display device can be realized.

    摘要: An organic EL device including a substrate, at least one organic thin-film layer overlying the main surface, and a pair of electrodes sandwiching therebetween the organic thin-film layer, at least one of the electrodes being a metallic electrode, the organic thin film layer defining a recombination electroluminescence region which is apart from the metallic electrode by at least 100 nm and has a periodic structure. In the organic EL device of the present invention, the emitted light is efficiently taken out by increasing the distance between the EL light-emitting region and the metal electrode for separating the light-emitting location from the metal electrode.
