    摘要: A disk device has a reading portion that reads out from a disk having a rewritable area, a plurality of defect management areas and a plurality of position information areas indicating an optimum position used for reproduction in the plurality of the defect management areas, a recording portion that records information in the rewritable area or the defect management area, a reproducing portion which reproduces information read out by the reading portion and stored in the rewritable area based on given defect management information, and a control portion that reads out a plurality of defect management information based on the plurality of the position information stored in the position information area and controls the reading portion and the recording portion so as to repair defect management information which fails to be read out corresponding to defect management information which is read out successfully.

    摘要: To form recording waveforms optimal to all optical discs including unknown discs and inferior quality discs. In an optical disc apparatus according to the present invention, a CPU changes a previously set pulse width at a predetermined code length by a predetermined value and controls an optical pickup, an RF amplifier, an evaluation index measurement circuit, and the like. With use of the changed pulse width, an asymmetry of a reproduction signal at the time of recording and reproducing test data on the optical disc is measured. On the basis of the measured asymmetry of the reproduction signal, a correction value for correcting the previously set pulse width at the predetermined code length is calculated. On the basis of the calculated correction value, the pulse width at the predetermined code length is corrected.

    摘要: To expand a capture range of a PLL circuit when a recording parameter optimal to a disc is decided when a PRML identification system is used. In an optical disc apparatus according to the present invention, the PLL circuit generates a reproduction clock signal based on a reproduction signal. A CPU determines whether a reproduction signal used when test data recorded on an optical disc is reproduced is locked in the PLL circuit or not. A spindle motor control circuit is controlled to change a speed of the disc to be increased when it is determined that the reproduction signal used when the test data is reproduced is not locked in the PLL circuit. The CPU decides a recording parameter and a write strategy correction value calculated on the basis of the reproduction signal used when the test data recorded on the predetermined area of the disc is reproduced.
