    Abstract: An occupant protecting device provided inside or below a seat cushion of a vehicle seat, containing: an airbag cushion capable of expanding and deploying to push up a seat surface of the seat cushion; and an inflator that supplies gas for expansion and deployment into the airbag cushion in the event of a vehicle emergency. The airbag cushion has front attaching points and rear attaching points attached to the vehicle seat side, and an expanding and deploying part that is expanded and deployed by the gas from the inflator. At least a portion of the expanding and deploying part overlaps itself in an up-down direction by folding between front attaching points and rear attaching points in a condition prior to expanding and deploying.

    Resolution Means
    The present invention is an airbag device stored in a vehicle seat, the airbag device including: an inflator for generating expansion gas; and an airbag for deploying from near an upper end of the vehicle seat to protect the periphery of the head of an occupant. Furthermore, the airbag includes: a first chamber for protecting one side of an occupant; a second chamber connected to the first chamber and for protecting the front of the occupant's head; a third chamber connected to the second chamber and for deploying from the front of the occupant's head across to the other side of the occupant; and a fourth chamber connected to the third chamber and for deploying at the other side of the occupant.

    Abstract: An airbag device comprises: an airbag including a head-protecting cushion that protects the head of an occupant by being deployed from an upper portion on the left or right side of a vehicle seat; and an inflator that supplies an inflation gas to the airbag. The head-protecting cushion comprises: a first chamber that protects an area near one side of the head of the occupant; a second chamber connected to the first chamber and which protects the front of the head of the occupant; a third chamber connected to the second chamber and which is deployed to span from the front of the head of the occupant to the other side of the head of the occupant; and a fourth chamber connected to the third chamber and which is deployed in an area near the other side of the head of the occupant.

    Abstract: A driver seat airbag device includes an airbag cushion installed at a center portion 108 of a steering wheel of a vehicle which is configured to expand and deploy toward an occupant in a driver seat; and an inflator that supplies gas to the airbag cushion. The airbag cushion includes a steering side panel provided on the steering wheel side and an occupant side panel joined to the occupant side of the steering side panel. The shape of the expanded and deployed airbag cushion is such that the portion, which is the largest area of the cross section orthogonal to the axis of rotation of the steering wheel, is formed further toward the front side of the vehicle than the center portion between the frontmost portion of the steering side panel and the rearmost portion of the occupant side panel.

The airbag cushion includes an expansion and deployment part that expands and deploys by gas from the inflator, and an exhaust vent part protruding from the peripheral edge of the airbag cushion. The expanded and deployed airbag cushion is configured such that the exhaust vent opens and allows the internal space of the expansion and deployment part to communicate with the outside when a load acts on the expansion and deployment part.

    Abstract: A cushion of an airbag device includes an inner inflating section convexly inflating toward the rear of a vehicle and restraining the head of an occupant from the front of the vehicle, protrusions provided to the sides of the inner inflating section in a vehicle width direction and capable of inflating so as to protrude further toward the rear of the vehicle than the inner inflating section, and outer inflating sections provided between the inner inflating section and the protrusions and temporarily convexly inflating toward the rear of the vehicle within a smaller range than the expansion range of the inner inflating section and the protrusions. The outer inflating sections are squashed by the inner inflating section and the protrusions and, as a result, the protrusions are in a posture of being pulled toward a side of the inner inflating section.

    Abstract: A curtain airbag attached to a vehicle body and expanded and deployed by a gas from an inflator containing: a first region along a lower edge; a second region adjacent above the first region with a first fold line; a third region adjacent above the second region with a second fold line formed on an opposite side of the first fold line across the second region. The first region is in a condition folded back at the first fold line to face a first surface side of the second region, the second region is in a condition folded back at the second fold line such that the folded back first region is between the second region and the third region, the third region is in a condition rolled upward on a second surface side. Rolling starts from the second fold line.
