Abstract: The invention relates to a sandwich component composed of at least two building material plates which are arranged essentially parallel to one another at a distance from one another and have a polyurethane foam core between the spaced building material plates, wherein the ratio of the greatest measured compressive modulus of the polyurethane foam core in a direction oriented parallel to the building material plates to the compressive modulus of the polyurethane foam core in a direction oriented perpendicular to the building material plates is less than 1.7. To produce the sandwich components, a mixture of (a) at least one polyisocyanate component, (b) at least one component which comprises at least one polyfunctional compound which is reactive toward isocyanates and (c) at least one blowing agent is introduced by the high-pressure injection method into a hollow space between spaced building material plates. The process makes it possible to produce sandwich components whose foam core has reduced anisotropy combined with good insulation values.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a process for producing rigid polyisocyanurate foams, where (a) aromatic polyisocyanate, (b) isocyanate-reactive compounds including at least one polyetherol (b1) and/or polyesterol (b2), wherein where the number-average content of isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms of components (b 1) and (b2) is at least 1.7, (c) catalyst, (d) blowing agents, (e) flame retardants, (f) optionally auxiliary and additive substances and (g) optionally compounds having aliphatic hydrophobic groups and not falling under the definition of compounds (a) to (f) are mixed to afford a reaction mixture and allowed to cure to afford a rigid polyisocyanurate foam. Further disclosed herein is a rigid polyisocyanurate foam obtainable by the process.

Abstract: Described herein is a method for the preparation of a rigid polyisocyanate based foam, including mixing (a) polyisocyanate, (b) at least one compound having at least two hydrogen atoms reactive towards isocyanates, (c) optionally flame retardant, (d) blowing agent, (e) catalyst and (f) optionally further additives, to form a reaction mixture and reacting the reaction mixture to obtain the polyurethane based rigid foam where the compound reactive towards isocyanates (b) includes an aromatic polyetherpolyol (b2) and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of an aromatic polyesterpolyol (b1) and a polyetherpolyol (b3) different from polyether (b2). Also described herein is a rigid polyisocyanate based foam obtained from such a method and a polyol component for the production of a polyisocyanate based foam.
