Abstract: Microcapsules including a capsule shell and a capsule core are disclosed, as well as plant propagation materials including the microcapsules and a process for manufacturing the microcapsules. The capsule shell includes a polyester, and the capsule core includes a water-soluble pesticide and at least 10 wt % of water based on a total weight of the capsule core. A method for controlling undesired insect or mite attack, harmful fungi, and/or undesired vegetation, and/or for regulating the growth of crop plants is also disclosed, wherein the method includes application of the microcapsules. A method of using of the microcapsules to reduce volatility or leaching behavior of the pesticide is also disclosed.
