The invention relates to a compound of the formula (I-1) wherein n is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 or 25, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R′1, R′2, R′3, R′4 and R′5 are each independently from each other H or C1-C8-alkyl. Compounds of the formula (I-1) or stabilizer mixtures containing compounds of the formula (I-1) are especially used for stabilization of polymers against degradation by oxidation, heat or light.

A method of purifying an organic diphosphite of general formula (I) The method comprises providing a crude organic diphosphite of general formula (I) that is at least partly dissolved in a first solvent (L1), wherein (L1) is selected from the group consisting of alkylbenzenes, aryl alkyl ethers, chlorobenzene, and mixtures thereof, and precipitating by admixing with a second solvent (L2) selected from the group consisting of linear C1-C4-alkanols, ethylene glycol di(C1-C4-alkyl) ethers, and mixtures thereof, and separating off the precipitated organic diphosphite from the solvents.
