摘要: This document describes systems and techniques for a control system for a grid-forming inverter. In aspects, a reactive power current-limiting subsystem, based on a measured reactive power, is configured to generate a first signal representing a magnitude of a modulation waveform presentable to a pulse-width modulator configured to direct transistors in the inverter of the grid-forming inverter. An active power current-limiting subsystem, based at least in part on a measured active power, is configured to generate a second signal representing a rotating phase angle of the modulation waveform presentable to the pulse-width modulator. The reactive power current-limiting subsystem and active power current-limiting subsystem are configured to cause an alternating current (AC) output of the grid-forming inverter to resume a nominal form subsequent to current being directed around one or more transistors in an inverter to prevent an excessive output current from flowing through the one or more transistors.

摘要: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for restoring operation of a power grid comprising a plurality of reclosers and distributed energy resources (DERs) responsive to abnormal conditions by determining and implementing a reconfiguration for the power grid. The reconfiguration can specify respective new statuses for one or more of the reclosers and/or respective quantities of reactive power to be supplied by one or more of the DERs. The reconfiguration can be determined based on a plurality of constraints using an objective function, the constraints being determined based at least in part on recloser status data and/or DER power generation capability data. Respective cleared quantities of reactive power for the DERs to supply to the reconfigured power grid can be determined via a transactive control scheme, and the reconfiguration can be updated prior to implementation based on the results of the transactive control scheme.

According to one aspect, an electric power system includes plural load controllers that are configured to control the supply of electrical energy from the system to plural loads, a control system that determines an amount of power in reserve and available to be provided to the electric power system, uses the determined amount of power in reserve to determine different values for a plurality of setpoints that correspond to a parameter of electrical energy that is supplied by the system to the loads, and the load controllers monitor the parameter of the electrical energy that is supplied by the system with respect to the setpoint values and to adjust an amount of the electrical energy that is supplied from the electric power system to the loads as a result of the monitoring of the parameter by the load controllers.

摘要: This document describes systems and techniques for a current-limiting control strategy for single-loop droop-controlled grid-forming inverters. In aspects, a hysteresis module is configured to compare an output current detected across one or more transistors in an inverter controlled by the single-loop droop converter with a specified maximum current and to generate an overcurrent signal. The overcurrent signal presents a fault signal responsive to the output current exceeding the specified maximum current. A logic array is configured to logically combine gate control signals generated by the single-loop droop controller to selectively direct the one or more transistors to allow the output current to flow therethrough with the overcurrent signal to present modified gate control signals to the one or more transistors. The logic array is configured to replace one or more of the gate control signals in the modified gate control signals with a gate disable signal responsive to the overcurrent signal presenting the fault signal.

摘要: Computing apparatus and methods to increase operational flexibility in an energy distribution system include using a transactive mechanism to adjust voltage supplied to a power grid by one or more distributed energy resources (DERs). In some examples of the disclosed technology, the transactive mechanism is configured to cause the one or more DERs to adjust a corresponding supply of voltage to the power grid in order to reach a targeted voltage difference across terminals of a switching device of the power grid, thereby enabling the switching device to be switched to increase reliability of the power grid.
