Abstract:
A symetrical polyisonitrile of the formula
WHEREIN R is hydrogen or alkyl containing one to three carbon atoms inclusive R'' is hydrogen, alkyl containing one to three carbon atoms inclusive or chloro R'''' is hydrogen or -NC.
Abstract:
Compositions and methods of using certain dithiobiuret derivatives, some of which are known, which possess bird-, rodent-, leporine animal- and ruminant-repellent properties, and which may be produced by conventional methods.
Abstract:
An amino compound containing at least one primary amino group, a carbonyl compound containing at least one aldehyde or keto group and an isonitrile compound are applied to a cellulosic material and reacted thereon. The cellulosic material so modified has increased resistance to degradation from heat and acids and is suitable as an insulator in electrical devices.
Abstract:
Substituted isocyano-diphenyl ethers of the formula
IN WHICH X is oxygen or sulfur, R is hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, R1 is optionally substituted cycloalkyl, halogen or alkylmercapto, R2 is hydrogen, halogen or alkyl, and N IS 1, 2 OR 3, WHICH POSSESS INSECTICIDAL, ACARICIDAL, FUNGICIDAL AND RODENTREPELLENT PROPERTIES.
Abstract:
ARYLOXYCARBONYL FLUORIDES SUCH AS FURFURYLOXYCARBONYL-, P-METHOXYBENZYLOXYCARBONYL- AND TRIMETHOXYBENZYLOXYCARBONYL-FLUORIDES ARE PROVIDED WHICH ARE USEFUL AS INTERMEDIATES FOR AMINO ACID DERIVATIVES AND ARE OBTAINED FROM CARBONYL-FLUORIDE CHLORIDE BY REACTION WITH THE APPROPRIATE ALCOHOL. THE AMINO ACID DERIVATIVES OF SUCH CARBONYL-FLUORIDES ARE BUILT UP THROUGH ACYLATION OF AMINO ACIDS THEREWITH. THESE AMINO ACID DERIVATIVES ARE USEFUL AS INTERMEDIATES FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF POLYPEPTIDES. THE REACTION OF CARBONYLCHLORIDE-FLUORIDE IS ADVANTAGEOUSLY CARRIED OUT AT TEMPERATURES OF 0 TO 70*C. IN AN INERT SOLVENT AND IN THE PRESENCE OF AN ACID-BINDING AGENT. THE AMINO ACID DERIVATIVES ARE FORMED AT TEMPERATURES BETWEEN +20 AND -20*C. ALSO IN THE PRESENCE OF AN ACID-BINDING AGENT. IMINO ACIDS CAN BE USED IN PLACE OF AMINO ACIDS. THE AMINO- OR IMINO-ACID DERIVATIVES OR ESTERS ARE ADVANTAGEOUSLY PREPARED AT CONSTANT. CONTROLLED PH VALUES, PREFERABLY BY THE USE OF AUTOMATIC PH CONTROL EQUIPMENT.
Abstract:
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING ISONITRILES WHEREIN AN N-MONOSUBSTITUTED FORMAMIDE IS REACTED WITH AN ACYLATING AGENT AT A PH-VALUE OF BETWEEN 4 AND 14 IN THE PRESENCE OF A HYDROPHOBIC SOLVENT AND OF A BASE.
Abstract:
Isocyano-diphenyl ethers and thioethers, i.e. isocyano(optionally mono- and di- chloro, alkyl and alkoxy)-4''-alkyldiphenyl ethers and thioethers, or 1-(4''-alkyl- -phenoxy and phenylmercapto)-(optionally 2,3,4,5 and/or 6-mono- and dichloro, alkyl and alkoxy)-phenyl-isocyanides, which possess pesticidal, especially acaricidal, properties.
