Abstract:
A circuit means is disclosed for aiding the collapse of an electromagnetic field in order to remove energy stored therein and thus to hasten movement of a movable member whose position is controlled by the strength of the electromagnetic field. In particular, an electronic device is used to provide a repeatable, uniform, rapid, controlled energy dissipating circuit path. By dissipating the energy stored in the electromagnetic field through a zener diode, uniformity of field collapse is assured, good repeatability is provided and actuation frequency of the field is increased.
Abstract:
An auxiliary circuit means is disclosed herein for controlling actuation of an injector valve means to provide for cold starting of an engine. The circuit and injector means are energized when a vehicle ignition system is energized and the fuel for cold starting is provided during the period of time required for a selected voltage value to raise to a threshold value. The threshold value is determined by a voltage divider including a temperature responsive element sensing engine temperature. Means are provided to prevent noise and supply voltage variations from affecting the capability of the circuit to compute a cold start injection pulse of requisite duration.
Abstract:
An auxiliary circuit is disclosed herein for controlling actuation of injector valve means to provide fuel for cold starting of an engine. The circuit is comprised of an interconnected pair of multivibrators and is adapted to produce an injector means control signal for a period of time representative of the fuel requirement for cold starting of the associated internal combustion engine. In order to permit the fuel to be pressurized, a time delay period is provided.
