    Abstract: A medical device system includes an elongate sheath defining a lumen extending within the elongate sheath. A coupler mechanism is slidingly disposed within the lumen, the coupler mechanism including a proximal coupler and a distal coupler. An elongate member is secured to and extends proximally from the proximal coupler. An implantable medical device (IMD) is secured to and extends distally from the distal coupler. The distal coupler remains secured to the proximal coupler while the coupler mechanism remains within the lumen, and the distal coupler releases from the proximal coupler, thereby releasing the IMD, when the coupler mechanism is exterior to the lumen.

    Abstract: A medical device system may include an elongate shaft having a lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end, a release wire disposed within the lumen of the elongate shaft configured to releasably attach a medical device to the distal end of the elongate shaft, and a securement member fixedly attached to the proximal end of the elongate shaft and to a proximal end of the release wire. A proximal portion of the securement member may be configured to translate proximally away from the proximal end of the elongate shaft upon application of a proximally-directed force to the proximal portion of the securement member while the elongate shaft is maintained in a fixed position, wherein the proximal portion remains connected to the proximal end of the elongate shaft after proximal translation away from the proximal end of the elongate shaft.

The locking element may have a first inner diameter adjacent to the distal end and a second inner diameter smaller than the first adjacent to the intermediate region. The locking element may configured to freely slide over a region of the sheath having the first diameter. When the locking element is disposed over the enlarged outer diameter region of the sheath having the second outer diameter, the locking element may be configured to depress the sheath radially inwards.
