Abstract:
Medical devices and methods are disclosed in the present application. In one illustrative example a medical device may comprise a catheter shaft extending from a proximal end to a distal end and the catheter shaft may include a plurality of catheter shaft lumens extending through at least a portion of the catheter shaft. The device may further include a first balloon member defining a first lumen in fluid communication with a first one of the plurality of catheter shaft lumens and a second balloon member defining a second lumen in fluid communication with a second one of the plurality of catheter shaft lumens. In some embodiments, the second balloon member may be disposed around the first balloon member and comprise a plurality of ports and a first raised portion and a second raised portion.
Abstract:
An adaptor for modifying pre-existing delivery system to improve delivery of an injectable treatment material through the delivery system. The delivery system is a pre-existing delivery system formed separately and without regard to the manufacture of the adaptor. The delivery system includes an administration set and a catheter set coupled together in fluid communication via a manifold. The injectable treatment material may be in the form of microspheres or microbeads which may become held up within the void space of the pre-existing manifold of the delivery system. The adaptor reconfigures the interior of the manifold to facilitate complete flow of the injectable treatment material therethrough without getting hung up or otherwise caught within the manifold and not delivered to a patient.
Abstract:
A catheter includes an elongated tubular shaft having a distal end, a proximal end, and a lumen extending therethrough. The elongated tubular shaft includes a polymeric outer layer, a polymeric inner layer, and a braided middle layer. A marker band is positioned adjacent the distal end of the elongated tubular shaft and may surround the middle layer, and a polymeric distal tip is attached to the distal end of the elongated tubular shaft. A distal end of the outer layer terminates proximal to the marker band such that the middle layer includes an exposed region that is exposed from the outer layer between the distal end of the outer layer and a proximal end of the marker band, and the distal tip is formed over the exposed region of the middle layer and the marker band, and extends distally beyond the distal end of the elongated tubular shaft.
Abstract:
A medical device system includes an elongate sheath defining a lumen extending within the elongate sheath. A coupler mechanism is slidingly disposed within the lumen, the coupler mechanism including a proximal coupler and a distal coupler. An elongate member is secured to and extends proximally from the proximal coupler. An implantable medical device (IMD) is secured to and extends distally from the distal coupler. The distal coupler remains secured to the proximal coupler while the coupler mechanism remains within the lumen, and the distal coupler releases from the proximal coupler, thereby releasing the IMD, when the coupler mechanism is exterior to the lumen.
