Abstract: An example medical device for occluding the left atrial appendage includes an expandable member having a first end region, a second end region and an inflation cavity. The medical device also includes a plurality of spine members coupled to the expandable member, the plurality of spine members spaced circumferentially around an outer surface of the expandable member. Additionally, the medical device includes a valve member extending at least partially into the inflation cavity, wherein the plurality of spine members are configured to position the medical device within an opening of the left atrial appendage and wherein the expandable member is configured to expand and seal the opening of the left atrial appendage.

Abstract: An occlusive implant system may include an access device including a handle and an access sheath extending distally therefrom. The access device includes a working lumen extending longitudinally therethrough. A proximal portion of the working lumen defines a garage section and a distal portion of the working lumen extends distally of the garage section. The occlusive implant system may include an occlusive implant device including a delivery sheath configured to be received within the garage section, the delivery sheath having a delivery lumen, a core wire disposed therein, and an occlusive implant releasably attached to the core wire. The garage section has a first inner diameter and the distal portion of the working lumen has a second inner diameter less than the first inner diameter. The delivery sheath has an outer diameter less than the first inner diameter and greater than the second inner diameter.

Abstract: An implant for occluding a left atrial appendage may include an expandable framework configured to shift between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, an occlusive element disposed on the expandable framework, and a sealing member spaced apart proximally from the expandable framework by a gap distance. A system for occluding a left atrial appendage may further include a delivery sheath and a core wire releasably secured to the implant. A method for occluding a left atrial appendage may include advancing the implant to the left atrial appendage, deploying the expandable framework within the left atrial appendage, shifting the expandable framework into the expanded configuration within the left atrial appendage, and deploying the sealing member proximate an ostium of the left atrial appendage.

Abstract: An example medical device delivery system is disclosed. The delivery system includes an inflation shaft having a first lumen, a second lumen and a distal end region, the distal end region including an elongated tip. The delivery system also includes a detachment shaft extending along a portion of the inflation shaft. The delivery system also include a delivery shaft having a proximal end region, a distal end region and a lumen extending therein. The delivery system also includes an occlusive member positioned within at least a portion of the lumen of the delivery shaft, wherein the occlusive member is configured to expand and seal the opening of a left atrial appendage. Further, a portion of the elongated tip is removeably engaged with the occlusive member.

Abstract: A delivery system for an occlusive implant may include a delivery sheath having a delivery lumen extending proximally from a distal end of the delivery sheath, the delivery sheath being formed from a polymeric material, and a core wire slidably disposed within the delivery lumen. The core wire may be configured to releasably engage the occlusive implant. The delivery sheath may include a circumferential ring monolithically formed therewith at the distal end of the delivery sheath and a plurality of longitudinal slots disposed proximal of the circumferential ring. An occlusive implant system may include an occlusive implant configured to shift between a delivery configuration and a deployed configuration, and the delivery system for the occlusive implant. The occlusive implant may be disposed within a distal portion of the delivery lumen in the delivery configuration.
