摘要: A random pattern chain assembly of the present invention improves noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) performance of a silent or inverted tooth chain. The chain assembly preferably uses at least three different link types arranged in a known pattern. The pattern is arranged such that the first link type is never adjacent the third link type, in that there is always a second link type between the first link type and the third link type.

摘要: A chain guide and tensioning apparatus is disclosed that is configured for engagement (contact) with a driven chain (e.g., in an automotive engine). The chain guide and tensioning apparatus includes a guide body and a guide face overlying the guide body. The guide face defines an inner surface and an opposite outer surface that is configured to guide and tension the driven chain. The guide face includes a plurality of spacers that extend therefrom into engagement (contact) with the guide body so as to define at least one channel that is configured to facilitate air and/or lubricant circulation between the guide body and the guide face to reduce heat and friction generated by engagement of the driven chain with the guide face.

摘要: A chain belt for a continuously variable transmission which has a plurality of links and a plurality of coupling members connecting the plurality of links together. Each of the coupling members has an outer perimeter, a first end with a first prepared surface, and a second end with a second prepared surface. The prepared surfaces extend a depth from the outer perimeter of the coupling member. A first retaining member is fastened to the first prepared surface of the coupling members and a second retaining member is fastened to the second prepared surface of the coupling members. The first and second retaining members retain the plurality of links on the coupling members.
