摘要: Methods and systems can facilitate visualizing cathodic and anodic stimulation separately via displaying and modifying graphical representations of anodic and cathodic volumes of activation. Alternately, the methods and systems may separately visualize stimulation of different neural elements, such as nerve fibers and neural cells. These methods and systems can further facilitate programming an electrical stimulation system for stimulating patient tissue.

摘要: A connector and lead (or other elongated body) can produce a tactile sensation that indicates alignment between connector contacts of the connector and the terminals on the lead (or other elongated body). For example, a terminal or retention sleeve of the lead (or other elongated body) may include an indented circumferential groove that interacts with a connector contact or retention contact of the connector to produce the tactile sensation. As another example, one or more terminals or spacers may have a larger diameter than adjacent spacers or terminals to interact with a connector contact to produce the tactile sensation.

摘要: An implantable electrical stimulation lead includes a lead body; terminals disposed along the proximal portion of the lead body; electrodes disposed along the distal portion of the lead body, the electrodes including at least one segmented electrode; and an asymmetric marker disposed along the distal portion of the lead body and including a first ring and a longitudinal band extending longitudinally from the first ring. The asymmetric marker and lead body are formed of different materials that are distinguishable from each other in the radiological images to facilitate radiological determination of the rotational orientation of the lead when implanted. The marker may also include one or more of a longitudinal extension, a second ring, and non-straight longitudinal edges. The marker may also include the longitudinal band and longitudinal extension without a ring.

摘要: A computer implemented system and method facilitates a cycle of generation, sharing, and refinement of volumes related to stimulation of anatomical tissue, such as brain or spinal cord stimulation. Such volumes can include target stimulation volumes, side effect volumes, and volumes of estimated activation. A computer system and method also facilitates analysis of groups of volumes, including analysis of differences and/or commonalities between different groups of volumes.

摘要: An operating room cable assembly for electrically coupling at least one implantable electrical stimulation lead to a trial stimulator includes an elongated body; a trial stimulator connector disposed at one end of the elongated body; and a lead connector disposed at another end of the elongated body. The lead connector can include one or more buttons that can be pushed to load a lead into the lead connector and released to retain the lead. Alternatively, the lead connector can include a lever that can be operated to load the lead. A further alternative is a slider with a lead engagement element that can be slid between positions allowing loading of a lead and engagement of the lead. Other alternatives include a lead connector with doors that can swing open to allow loading of a lead or a collet/sleeve that can be tightened on the lead.

摘要: Systems and methods for providing electrostimulation to a neural target are discussed. An example system comprises an implantable stimulator and a controller. The implantable stimulator can provide burst stimulation comprising a pulse train followed by a pulse-free period. The controller can detect an indication of frequency drift of an intrinsic oscillatory neural activity, and in response to the indication of frequency drift, calibrate a burst stimulation parameter including a burst frequency or a timing for initiating the burst stimulation at a particular phase of an oscillation cycle of the intrinsic oscillatory neural activity. The controller can generate a control signal to the implantable stimulator to generate burst stimulation in accordance with the calibrated burst stimulation parameter.

摘要: An example of a system for delivering neurostimulation may include a programming control circuit and a user interface. The programming control circuit may be configured to generate stimulation parameters controlling delivery of neurostimulation pulses according to one or more stimulation waveforms associated with areas of stimulation each defined by a set of electrodes. The neurostimulation pulses are each delivered to an area of stimulation. The user interface may include a display screen and an interface control circuit. The interface control circuit may be configured to define the one or more stimulation waveforms and the areas of stimulation, and may include a stimulation frequency module configured to display a stimulation rate table on the display screen. The stimulation rate table may present stimulation frequencies associated with each of the areas of stimulation for selection by a user.
