Abstract: This document discusses, among other things, systems and methods for programming neuromodulation therapy to treat neurological or cardiovascular diseases. A system includes an input circuit that receives a modulation magnitude representing a level of stimulation intensity, a memory that stores a plurality of gain functions associated with a plurality of modulation parameters, and a electrostimulator that may generate and deliver an electrostimulation therapy. A controller may program the electrostimulator with the plurality of modulation parameters based on the received modulation magnitude and the plurality of gain functions, and control the electrostimulator to generate electrostimulation therapy according to the plurality of modulation parameters.

Abstract: The techniques of the disclosure describe example medical devices, systems, and methods for delivering electrical stimulation therapy to a patient. In one example, a medical device selects subsets of a plurality of therapy parameter sets that define electrical stimulation therapy, each subset including at least one therapy parameter set and less than all of the therapy parameter sets. Further, the medical device delivers, via a plurality of electrodes, electrical stimulation therapy according to each subset via a respective set of electrodes different from sets of electrodes of each other subset of the therapy parameter sets. The medical device iteratively delivers the electrical stimulation therapy according to the subsets of the therapy parameter sets via the respective sets of electrodes. Further, the medical device selects at least one subset of the therapy parameter sets that treat a condition of the patient for defining subsequent delivery of electrical stimulation to the patient.

Abstract: The Randomized Intermittent Dichotomous Stimulation (RIDS) paradigm disclosed provides an alternate stimulus for the patient to attend to, besides the typical SCS signal, thus providing a somatotopically-matched non-noxious stimulus to replace the cognitive attention to the nociceptive stimulus. The randomly intermittent stimulus is paired with an implicit virtual task to reinforce selective attention to the non-noxious stimulus.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for the treatment of pain using electrical nerve conduction block (ENCB). Contrary to other methods of pain treatment, the ENCB can establish a direct block of neural activity, thereby eliminating the pain. Additionally, the ENCB can be administered without causing electrochemical damage. An example method can include: placing at least one electrode contact in electrical communication with a region of a subject's spinal cord; applying an electrical nerve conduction block (ENCB) to a nerve in the region through the at least one electrode contact; and blocking neural activity with the ENCB to reduce the pain or other unwanted sensation in the subject.
