    摘要: The invention provides an asset location tracking system for tracking the position of a mobile asset, such as an automobile, boat or airplane. The tracking system includes a mobile unit for installation in the mobile asset. The mobile unit includes a position locating unit, such as a GPS unit, for generating position information indicative of the position of the mobile asset, and a wireless transmitter, such as a cellular transmitter, for wirelessly transmitting the position information. The tracking system also includes a central processing system that includes a wireless receiver, such as a cellular receiver, for receiving the position information transmitted by the wireless transmitter. The central processing system also includes a processor for operating on the position information to format it to be accessible at a network address on a global communication network such as the Internet. The tracking system includes a customer computer that can access to the network address on the global communication network to display the position information. In preferred embodiments, the position information is displayed as a graphical indicator, such as a “push pin,” on a map or aerial photograph displayed a webpage accessed by the customer computer.

According to one embodiment, a method of an administrative server includes processing a location data of a vehicle having an onboard location device, matching the location data to a value data based on a location lookup table, and applying the value data to a profile of the vehicle. The method may include applying a credit and/or a debit, based on the value data, to an account (e.g., a financial account, a non-financial account) of a user associated with the vehicle according to a predetermined policy of an administrator. The method may also include modifying the value data to a modified value data depending on a meta-data such as a time of day, a date, and/or a vehicle type/model.

The vehicle is associated with a borrower in a loan agreement or a lease agreement with a lending institution with regard to an asset.     摘要: An apparatus and method integrates cellular technology, global positioning system (GPS) technology and satellite radio technology. The components of the apparatus share resources, such as a power, dual GPS/satellite antennae, display screen and controls. The system provides an “on-demand” back channel, such as via the nationwide cellular phone network, that allows a satellite radio subscriber to order data on demand from the satellite radio provider, such as a particular list of songs or travel information. The invention utilizes the existing satellite radio infrastructure which is capable of delivering large amounts of streaming on-demand customized programming and information across a satellite channel to a subscriber's satellite radio decoder. By effectively utilizing the growth and momentum of satellite radio technology, the invention introduces new options for location based services (LBS). Using the existing satellite radio infrastructure minimizes the overall cost of delivery of location based services while allowing a wide range of service options.
