摘要: An Extensible Markup Language (XML)-based protocol is utilized for communications between a Cellular Broadcast Entity (CBE) and a Cellular Broadcast Center (CBC) in a Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) architecture. The CMAS architecture supports commercial mobile alerts, and the protocol provides a mechanism for Emergency Alert System (EAS) messages and related information to be communicated between the CBE and the CBC. In an example configuration, the protocol accommodates request messages from the CBE to the CBC and response messages from the CBC to the CBE. The request messages can provide an indication to initiate a message broadcast, update a previous message broadcast, or cancel a previous message broadcast. The response messages can provide an indication that the request message is valid, or an error message indicating that the request message is invalid.

摘要: Emergency communication initiated from an internet protocol enabled device may be recognized and established. An address representative of a designated recipient with which communication is to be established may be provided to a first communication service operating on the internet protocol enabled device, such as a wireless mobile device. The communication may be a non-voice communication or a voice communication. The communication may be determined to be indicative of an emergency. The communication may be established with a recipient associated with the designated recipient address via a second communication service operating on the internet protocol enabled device and a predetermined network upon the communication being indicative of an emergency. The predetermined network may provide the communication between the internet protocol enabled device and the recipient securely.

摘要: Emergency text messaging provides the ability to send and receive partial text-based messages and text messages that were prematurely ended. When a sender of a text message is not able to complete the message, the recipient of the partial/prematurely concluded message is provided information such that the recipient can ascertain that an exceptional condition exists. A text message can be sent on a character-by-character basis, a text message can be sent when a lack of activity is detected for a predetermined amount of time, when a character entry is consecutively repeated a predetermined amount of times or for a predetermined amount of time, or any appropriate combination thereof. The recipient of the text message has the ability to adjust parameters on the device, activate sensors on the device, and/or trigger the transmission of information from the device.

摘要: System and method for modifying an optical assembly with another image modifying device by using an adapter assembly to connect or couple three image modifying devices together. The adapter assembly includes two adapters that have collars to hold a night vision monocular between them, and to each connect with a camera and lens, respectively, modifying a camera-lens assembly for use in night time photo surveillance. Attachment members on each adapter may include mechanical and/or electrical connectors to couple or connect the adapters to each other, and/or to electrically connect the camera with the lens.

摘要: Determining if non-voice emergency services (NOVES) are available is accomplished via an indicator provided via a control channel and/or via a query to a network entity. For example, a NOVES indicator can be provided, via a control channel message, to a communications device, indicating whether non-voice emergency services (NOVES) are available or not available. Additionally, capabilities of public safety answering points (PSAPs) providing NOVES can be included. For example, the indicator can include information as to whether an identified PSAP can receive a text based emergency message, an emergency message comprising a image, and emergency message comprising audio, and/or an emergency message comprising video. In another example configuration, a communications device can query a communications network to determine the availability of NOVES and PSAP capabilities. A response to the query can include an indication as to whether non-voice services are available, and, if appropriate, the types of NOVES services available.
