摘要： An embodiment of the present application is directed to an apparatus, method, and or computer readable medium for effectively storing an interactive dictionary database in a memory. The interactive dictionary database includes a plurality of symbol sequences, each of the plurality of symbol sequences including at least one polysemous symbol and each of the plurality of symbol sequences being stored in association with at least one word, sentence, phoneme, message, letter, number, morpheme, command and/or phrase. The method includes providing, in the interactive dictionary database, information useable to assign at least a subset of the plurality of symbol sequences at least one of an active and an inactive status.

摘要： A keyboard utilizing a matrix arrangement of word, character, numerical (print medium) keys to enhance a standard print medium keyboard. Instead of utilizing keys with letters and numbers, and instead of utilizing iconic symbols (or for use in combination with iconic symbols), the keyboard includes a plurality of keys arranged in at least two matrices. The keys of the first matrix are associated with each other in some manner, as are keys in at least one additional matrix. The matrices can include keys grouped together and grammatically associated with one another, by part of speech for example; and/or can include keys associated with a common color and a common number of selections necessary to access an associated word or word phrase. By use of such a keyboard, preferably in conjunction with a word output device, both manual and scanning input can be enhanced in a print medium environment, without the need to invest substantial time in memorizing complex iconic structures.

摘要： A computer device, such as a mobile phone or PDA for example, is able to access an application program or command, based upon selection of corresponding sequences of symbols. Such symbols can be polysemous in nature and thus be associated with a plurality of different meanings depending upon other symbols sequenced therewith. By utilizing polysemous symbols, a relatively large number of sequences can be developed and associated with programs and/or commands of the computer device, with only a relatively small number of symbols displayed. In devices such as PDAs and mobile phone where display space is a premium, such access to commands and programs can be invaluable.

Such symbols can be polysemous in nature and thus be associated with a plurality of different meanings depending upon other symbols sequenced therewith. By utilizing polysemous symbols, a relatively large number of sequences can be developed and associated with stored messages in the computer device. To aid a user in accessing a desired sequence or to aid in training the learning of stored sequences, for example, a category relating to at least two symbol sequences is fed back to the user upon pre-selecting a symbol; a theme relating to at least two symbol sequences is fed back to the user upon selecting a symbol and pre-selecting a next symbol; and/or a message associated with a sequence is fed back to the user upon selecting and/or pre-selecting at least one symbol completing a symbol sequence.
