The RGB codec-based moving picture transmitting method includes performing RGB-encoding on an RGB image and generating an encoded RGB image; receiving an audio bit stream; and generating a transmission stream on the basis of the encoded RGB image and the audio bit stream, wherein the RGB-encoding is performed using intra prediction or inter prediction for encoding a current image on the basis of a previous RGB image. By receiving and transmitting RGB images without any color format conversion, picture quality deterioration is prevented.
