摘要: Compositions curable by heat comprise a halogen-containing vinyl polymer, a plasticizer therefor in which the polymer is insoluble at room temperature, an epoxide resin having an epoxide equivalency greater than one and as curing agent a condensation product containing no primary amino groups and made by condensing an amine containing two or more primary amino groups with a volatile ketone, the composition also comprising sufficient moisture to be curable by heat. Specified halogen-containing polymers are polyvinyl chloride; copolymers of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate, ethylene, acrylic esters, acrylonitrile, maleic anhydride and vinylidene chloride; and chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, partially hydrolysed polyvinyl acetates and acetals. Specified plasticizers are phthalates, sebacates, phosphates, epoxidised unsaturated fatty acids and alcohols and esters thereof. Specified epoxide resins are polyglycidyl ethers of polyhydric compounds, e.g. butane-1, 4-diol, glycerol, N-phenyldiethanolamine, resorcinol, 2, 2-bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) propane and phenol-aldehyde condensates; polyglycidyl esters of polycarboxylic acids, e.g. phthalic acid; aminopolyepoxides obtained by dehydrohalogenating reaction products of epihalohydrins with amines, e.g. n-butylamine, aniline and 4,41-di(monomethylamino)-diphenylmethane; and epoxidised unsaturated polyolefins. The curing agent may be derived from acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isopropyl ketone, diisopropyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone or methyl cyclohexanone, and an alkylene diamine or polyalkylene polyamine, bis(4-amino -3- methylcyclohexyl) methane, 3-(3-aminocyclohexyl) n-propylamine, bis(4-aminophenyl) methane, bis(4-aminophenyl) sulphone or m-phenylenediamine. The compositions may also contain fillers, reinforcements, pigments and dyes, and water liberating materials such as hydrated calcium sulphate. The compositions may be used for coating metals, glass, wood, ceramics and polyester and polyamide textiles, and as adhesives. Examples describe compositions comprising polyvinyl chloride, adipate plasticizer, polyethylene oxide, epoxidised soya bean oil, organotin stabilizer and (1) the reaction products of epichlorhydrin and 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) propane and of diethylene triamine and methyl isobutyl ketone; (2) the reaction products of epichlorhydrin and N-phenyldiethanolamine and of diethylene triamine and methyl isobutyl ketone; and (3) a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate/maleic anhydride terpolymer, silica and reaction products of epichlorhydrin and 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) propane and of ethylene diamine and methyl isobutyl ketone. Specification 777,052 is referred to.ALSO:Substrates such as metals, e.g. mild steel and aluminium, glass, wood and ceramics may be coated with heat curable compositions comprising a halogen-containing vinyl polymer, a plasticizer therefor in which the polymer is insoluble at room temperature, an epoxide resin having an epoxide equivalency greater than one and as curing agent a condensation product containing no primary amino groups and made by condensing an amine containing two or more primary amino groups with a volatile ketone, the composition also comprising sufficient moisture to be curable by heat.
