Abstract: Techniques are provided for telephone call information collection and retrieval. A receiver device receives a telephone call from a caller device. The receiver device collects information associated with the telephone call and stores the information in a memory. Subsequently, the receiver device displays, via a graphical user interface, the telephone number of the caller device. The receiver device receives, via the graphical user interface, a user selection of the telephone number of the caller. In response to the user selection, the receiver device displays, via the graphical user interface, the information stored in the memory, including, for example, the start and end times of the telephone call, the location(s) of the receiver device during the telephone call, and text representing the audio of the call (e.g., speech-to-text conversion of at least a portion of the audio).

Abstract: Techniques for providing a split keyboard on an electronic device with different languages as input. The techniques include providing a first virtual keyboard and first input method editor (IME) configured in a first language on the electronic device, detecting or identifying, from the first virtual keyboard by the first IME, a character input string of a second language different from the first language, and, in response to detecting or identifying the character input string of the second language, providing a second virtual keyboard and second IME configured in the second language, displaying the second virtual keyboard alongside the first virtual keyboard on the electronic device, and offloading processing of the character input string of the second language from the first IME to the second IME. In this way, user experience while providing characters of different languages on an electronic device can be facilitated and improved.

Abstract: A system and method for providing multifactor authentication. A disclosed method includes receiving a request at a server to launch a new session for an application on a client device, generating a plurality of codes, each of the plurality of codes associated with a respective identifier, and forwarding the plurality of codes via a short messaging service (SMS) message to a user associated with the client device. The method further includes sending the respective identifier associated with a given code of the plurality of codes to the application and receiving a submitted code entered into the application from the client device. Once received, the method compares the submitted code with the given code associated with the respective identifier and authenticates the user in response to the submitted code matching the given code.

Abstract: Methods and systems for determining text for translation are described herein. A client device may receive a content item containing text and a user may need to have only some of the text translated. The client device may cause subsets of the text to be translated. The client device may use translation data that may indicate which subsets of text within a content item should be translated and one or more target languages to translate the text into. The translation data may contain user preferences indicating which text portions a particular user desires to be translated. The translation data may be created and modified using machine learning. A machine learning model may learn which text portions should be translated based on what users have requested to be translated in the past and may determine which text portions of a content item should be translated.

Abstract: Methods and systems for content resolution adjustment for passive display devices are described herein. Passive display devices such as a passive magnifying device (e.g., a screen magnifier) or a projector (e.g., a built-in mobile phone projector) are useful in enlarging photos, documents, videos, etc. for view for small-sized small-screen device screens. However, optimal content resolution for the small-screen device screens may not be optimal for the passive display devices. Particularly, when a small-screen device receives content from a remote computing device, the initial content resolution may not be optimal even for the small-screen device screen because of low transmission speed and/or low bandwidth of a connection with an original data source. Content resolution adjustment is provided in this disclosure by determining distance between the passive display device and the small-screen device, calculating magnification ratio for the passive display device, and adjusting the content resolution based on the calculated magnification ratio.

Abstract: Described embodiments may provide transferring a file to a mobile device via scanning quick response codes displayed via a display output device. A media device in communication with a server may receive a request to access a file on the server. A file converter of the media device may encode the file obtained from the server into a plurality of quick response (QR) codes. The media device may display the plurality of QR codes via a display output device. A mobile device may scan each of the plurality of QR codes displayed on the display output device. A file downloader of the mobile device may interpret each of the scanned plurality of QR codes to form a file on the mobile device.
