    摘要: A brake system particularly for electric vehicles which provides power assisted hydraulic brakes in which the degree of power assistance is regulated for the braking force desired by the use of an operator compressible carbon pile in the circuit of an electric motor which drives a pump to vary the pressure in a master cylinder. In the event of any breakdown or malfunction for any reason in the power assist portion of the system the carbon pile may function as a compressible mechanical link between the hydraulic brakes and the foot pedal for manually applying the brake.

    摘要: A front and lateral loading mechanism, primarily for lift trucks, in which a load supporting structure is mounted on the forward end of a boom and the boom is connected to a carriage by a pantograph mechanism capable of operating in an overcenter relationship to extend laterally to either side. One of the two links of the pantograph mechanism is continuous and the other link has upper and lower arms rigidly connected to one another by a shaft journalled in the continuous link, with the arms on the opposite sides thereof. One link is pivotally connected to the carriage and slidably connected to the boom, and the other link is slidably connected to the carriage and pivotally connected to the boom. The carriage is normally mounted on an upright of a lift truck for raising and lowering a load, and the load supporting structure, which may be a fork section, is capable of slewing from one side to the other as the pantograph mechanism moves the boom laterally.

    摘要: A load equalizing and stabilizing system for use with lift trucks having an upright and an attachment for handling laterally positioned loads, in which a pair of laterally spaced, vertically positioned racks are mounted on the upright on opposite sides of the center line thereof, and one or more horizontally positioned shafts extends between said racks and are journalled in the carriage and contain pinions mounted on the end thereof meshing with the racks. The pinions are mounted on the ends of the shaft in such a manner that they can tilt laterally to adjust to irregularities in the racks, this being preferably accomplished by a crowned spline structure interconnecting the shaft and pinion.

    摘要: A fending guide plate assembly for vehicles such as lift trucks for mechanically engaging aisle mounted side rails, or the like, by base plate side mounted guide rollers to guide the vehicle along narrow aisles as in warehouses. The base plate is securely mounted by shock absorbers from the vehicle chassis and extends adjacent to the floor under a major portion thereof. The shock absorbers permit the base plate to absorb and cushion forces imposed thereon from any direction relative to the chassis, thus limiting the effect of shock loads encountered, for example, when entering narrow aisle ways between guide rails. Adjustment members, such as bolts, support the guide plate assembly from the floor when it is not engaged with the vehicle and are adjustable to lower and raise the assembly for disengagement from the vehicle or for engagement therewith, the vehicle being driveable onto and from the plate assembly for connection thereto and disconnection therefrom.

    摘要: A light reference system for generating a collimated beam of light and converting and projecting the same as a relatively intense fan-shaped or diverging plane of light from an operator manipulatable device on a machine or a vehicle to an object or opening which may be positionally referenced to the device in a selected predetermined relation by operator control of the machine or vehicle and manipulatable device, thus enabling the operator to observably locate a sharply defined resulting line of light so as to establish such selected relation. The light reference system is capable of a number of different embodiments or forms, a few of which are disclosed herein. An exemplary embodiment of the machine or vehicle with which such a system is combined herein is of a fork lift truck vehicle on which the light reference system in various forms is mounted on the elevatable load handling device or fork carrier for generating a collimated beam of light and for converting the same into a flat plane of diverging light, referred to usually herein as a ''''fanshape'''' of light, having abrupt demarcation in intensity and projected as a relatively intense operator observable line of light to any selected object, such as to a pallet in an elevated bin of a storage rack, in a predetermined attitude with respect to the load handling device such as the fork of a fork truck. Also disclosed is an embodiment which projects an image or visual reference in the form of a line of light, generated by a scanning laser beam, and projected on surfaces in the path of the projected light such as a pallet as recited above.
