    Abstract: A stent delivery assembly includes a delivery balloon defining a balloon axis, and a stent disposed around the delivery balloon. The stent has interconnected struts, and the delivery balloon has a balloon surface with a number of strips that are disposed on the balloon surface and extend along the balloon axis, the strips having an unhydrated state and a hydrated state, the strips having a smaller volume in the unhydrated state than in the hydrated state. For a stent composed of axially aligned segments connected via connectors disposed between adjacent ones of the segments, the strips have a length greater than an axial distance between axially outermost connectors connecting the adjacent ones of the segments.

    Abstract: A method of sequenced deployment of an endovascular device comprises delivering, into a body vessel, a Nitinol structural element comprising n deployable regions each having a local austenite finish temperature above body temperature. The local austenite finish temperature of at least one of the n deployable regions is different from the local austenite finish temperature of another of the n deployable regions. During and/or after delivery, the Nitinol structural element is heated above body temperature, and each of the n deployable regions is deployed when the local austenite finish temperature thereof is reached. Thus, a deployed configuration of an endovascular device is achieved in a sequenced deployment process.

    Abstract: A magnetic field device for directing a magnetic coupling source includes an electrical power source, a control module, a muzzle, and an electromagnet adjacent the muzzle and connected to the electrical power source. A magnetic sensor within the muzzle is adjacent to the electromagnet. A magnet loading chamber is adjacent to the electromagnet magnetic and opposite to the magnetic sensor. The magnet loading chamber is configured to accommodate one or more permanent magnets. A magnetic shield surrounds exterior surfaces of the electromagnet and magnet loading chamber. A user operable control device is electrically connected to the electromagnet and to the electrical power source. The control device regulates an amount of electric current from the electrical power source to the electromagnet. A magnet guidewire delivery system includes a guide wire having a magnetic element and a magnetic field device generating a magnetic field that couples with the magnetic element.

    Abstract: A stent has a tubular shaped framework that includes a plurality of vertices that are each defined by a pair of struts. A plurality of induction responsive muscles are associated, respectively, with one of the plurality of vertices by being attached to each strut of a pair of struts. The induction responsive muscles have a relaxed state at body temperatures, and have a contracted state at an elevated temperature greater than body temperature. If the stent has an initial unsatisfactory implant orientation or position or other expansion irregularity, the application of an electromagnetic induction field may be applied to temporary 11 reduce the diameter of the stent to adjust its positioning and/or orientation.

    Abstract: An endoluminal prosthesis system for being deployed in a patient's aorta near the heart, includes a graft having a main body with a proximal end configured to be deployed near a patient's heart and a distal end configured to be deployed away from the patient's heart. The main body defines a proximal portion of the graft including the proximal end; a distal portion of the graft including the distal end; a middle portion of the graft extending between the proximal portion and the distal portion. A connection branch attached to the middle portion has an inner end attached to the middle portion and an outer end disposed radially outwardly from the inner end. The outer end of the connection branch includes a terminal ring composed of at least two partial rings pivotable relative to each other and including at least one radially outward barb.
