Abstract: Methods of manufacturing metal, metal-matrix, metal-metal-matrix composite weapon barrels offer barrels with improved thermal performance and rigidity with no, minimal or negative weight increase. A barrel may include a barrel core surrounded by a lightweight, thermally conductive sleeve made from metal, metal-matrix composite (MMC) materials, also referred to as metal-matrix material. The barrel core and barrel sleeve may include aligning features to prevent separation and movement of the sleeve along the core. The disclosed methods provide for material combinations and part designs that prevent separation of their parts over the life of the weapon barrel and allow the barrel to perform at high cadence over the whole temperature range the barrel is used.

The method includes: a preparing step of preparing the deep-drawn stainless steel pipe produced by deep-drawing and the pillar shaped ceramic body; a heating step of heating the deep-drawn stainless steel pipe to 900° C. or more; and a shrink-fitting step of inserting the pillar shaped ceramic body into the heated deep-drawn stainless steel pipe and shrink-fitting them.

Abstract: A medical apparatus remanufacturing method includes: disassembling a housing including a first housing and a second housing. The first housing can include a boss that is press-fitted to a boss hole of a press-fitted portion of a second housing to form an assembled state in which the first housing and the second housing are assembled to each other. The housing is disassembled by changing a temperature of at least one of the boss or the press-fitted portion to decrease a contact surface pressure between the boss and the boss hole, and removing the boss from the boss hole to release the assembled state.

Abstract: Embodiments of golf clubs with grooves and methods of manufacture thereof are described herein. In one embodiment of a golf club described herein, the golf club has a head with a body. The body has a strike face with channels and at least one insert located within at least one of the channels. At least one of the channels comprises a single groove, and the insert forms at least a portion of the single groove. At least one of the channels comprises an opening on the strike face that is narrower than a bottom of the at least one of the channels.
