摘要: A stent device includes generally cylindrical rings aligned along a longitudinal axis, and interconnected by interconnecting members. Each interconnecting member includes a first coupling end, a second coupling end, and an elongate portion therebetween. The first coupling end, the elongate portion, and the second coupling end combine in either a first orientation or a second orientation, which are substantially mirror images. For each interconnecting member, the first coupling end can intersect with a midpoint of a transition region of a substantially repeating curved segment on one of the rings, and the second coupling end can intersect with a midpoint of a curved segment of a different and immediately adjacent ring. The interconnecting members can be arranged in rows extending longitudinally along the device. Along each row, consecutive interconnected members alternate between the first orientation and the second orientation. A cover may be provided over the stent device.

摘要: A biodegradable cross-linked polymer and methods of preparing same are provided. The biodegradable cross-linked polymer is formed from a biodegradable polymeric material having two or more arms, which is a random copolymer formed of a first monomer and a second monomer different from the first monomer. The first monomer is selected from the group consisting of L-lactide, DL-lactide, glycolid, ϵ-caprolactone, trimethylene carbonate, p-dioxanone, amino acid-derived polycarbonates and polyorthoesters. The second monomer is one or two selected from the group consisting of D-lactide, DL-lactide, glycolide, ϵ-caprolactone, trimethyl carbonate, salicylic acid, carbonates, amino acids and derivatives thereof. The biodegradable polymeric material has a molecular weight of from 5,000 to 1,200,000 and an intrinsic viscosity of from 0.1 to 9.0 dl/g. Each of the terminal groups on the arms of the biodegradable polymeric material is selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl amino and carboxyl groups.

摘要: A device includes a stent scaffold structure supporting a patch on an interior surface thereof. The device may be used to produce a neovalve in a percutaneous minimally invasive manner. Exemplary methods include implanting the device, permitting a growth layer to form over at least a portion of the patch, and separating the patch from the stent scaffold thereby forming a slit or gap in the vessel wall to act as a valve similar to the surgical neovalve.

摘要: A method for treating an aneurysm can include inserting a medical device partially in a first artery and partially in a third artery. The device can be expanded radially outwardly from a first position to a second position to engage an inner surface of the first artery and an inner surface of the third artery, so as to maintain a fluid pathway through said arteries. Further, the device can be positioned such that, when the device is in the second position, a porous membrane of the device is located at a neck of the aneurysm.
