    Abstract: A dual stage fuel water separator filter is provided. The filter includes a first stage and a second stage. The first stage includes a first media pack and a first coalescing wrap. The first media pack is coupled to a first upper endcap and a first lower endcap. The first coalescing wrap is coupled proximate to an inner surface of the first media pack and is coupled to both the first upper endcap and the first lower endcap. The second stage is positioned radially within the first stage and includes a second media pack and a second coalescing wrap. The second media pack is coupled to a second upper endcap and a second lower endcap. The second coalescing wrap is coupled proximate to an inner surface of the second media pack and is coupled to both the second upper endcap and the second lower endcap.

    Abstract: A filter cartridge includes a shell, a connecting ring, an end cap, and an axially directed sealing member. The shell defines an inner cavity and an upper lip disposed along an upper edge of the inner cavity. The upper lip defines a channel. The connecting ring is positioned outside of the inner cavity and is engaged with the channel. The connecting ring includes a threaded region extending along a central axis of the shell. The end cap is engaged with the shell adjacent to the upper lip. The axially directed sealing member is positioned between the shell and the end cap and extends axially outward so as to form an axial seal with a filter head when the filter cartridge is installed on the filter head.

    Abstract: A filter assembly comprises a housing defining an internal volume and comprising an inlet for receiving fuel, a first outlet to allow filtered fuel to exit the internal volume, and a second outlet to allow water separated from the fuel to exit the internal volume. A filter element is disposed within the internal volume for filtering the fuel to provide the filtered fuel and separate the water from the fuel. An outlet assembly is fluidly coupled to the first and second outlets and comprises a first flow path structured to communicate the filtered fuel to the first outlet, and a second flow path fluidly coupled to the internal volume of the housing and to the water reservoir so as to receive the water from the internal volume and communicate the water to the water reservoir. The second flow path is fluidly isolated from the first flow path.

    Abstract: A water drain valve system structured to drain water from a fuel-water separator. The system includes a collection vessel structured to temporarily store water, a liquid level sensor structured to monitor a level of the temporarily stored water, a drainage port extending radially from the collection vessel and having a port inlet and a port outlet, and a valve assembly. The port inlet receives water to be drained from the collection vessel, the water flowing through the drainage port and exiting through the port outlet. The valve assembly is movable between a closed position in which the port outlet is closed, and an open position, in which the port outlet is open, to selectively allow water to be drained from the collection vessel. The valve assembly includes a solenoid coupled to a seal member, the seal member closing the port outlet in the closed position of the valve assembly.
