Abstract: A battery can include an anode and a cathode enclosed within a battery housing, a feedthrough terminal coupled to one of the anode or the cathode and extending through a lid of the battery housing, and a glass insulator between the feedthrough terminal and the lid, wherein an outside surface of the lid and an outer surface of the feedthrough terminal and an outer surface of the glass insulator is covered by a first layer of an electrically insulative coating.
