    Abstract: An optical monitoring device includes a housing including a plurality of walls and an interior space disposed therebetween, an opening disposed in a wall of the plurality of walls, and a movable panel, the opening forms a window through the wall, and the movable panel is configured to be moved to access the interior space; a lamp assembly disposed within the interior space and positioned to project light at the window; a camera including an image receiving lens, the camera positioned within the interior space with the image receiving lens is in optical communication with the window; a memory storage device for storing image data; and a controller in electrical communication with the camera and the memory storage device, wherein the controller is configured to compare instant image data from the camera to image data stored on the memory storage device.

    Abstract: A protective shield for a sensor subassembly is disclosed. The protective shield includes a cover member and a plurality of mounting tabs. The plurality of mounting tabs extend from the cover member. Each of the plurality of mounting tabs is adapted to engage with a sensor housing of the sensor subassembly, such that the cover member is adapted to cover at least one sensor accommodated in the sensor subassembly. The provision of the cover member prevents at least one of heat, ambient particulate matter, particles or spray of liquid that may be present in the HVAC environment (such as water, oil, and refrigerant), vibration, electrical noise, and other emissions within the environment of the HVAC system from directly contacting the at least one sensor accommodated in the sensor housing.

    Abstract: A gas purification assembly for an air-conditioning indoor unit, the gas purification assembly comprising: a filter device arranged at or near an air inlet end of the air-conditioning indoor unit, for filtering particles entrained in the gas entering through the air inlet end; an ion generator located downstream of the filter device along the gas flow direction, for increasing the content of positive and/or negative ions in the gas flow; an atomizing device located downstream of the ion generator along the gas flow direction, for increasing the humidity and the amount of ions of the gas flow, and eliminating the ozone generated by the ion generator; and a photocatalytic device located downstream of the atomizing device along the gas flow direction, for performing a photocatalytic reaction on the humidified gas flow. An air-conditioning indoor unit equipped with the gas purification assembly is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A method of indicating the presence of a target gas in a gas volume comprising providing a gas sensing core, configured for detection of the target gas, and a condition sensor within the gas volume, providing a controller, allowing gas to fluidly interact with the gas sensing core, monitoring a target gas measurement output from the gas sensing core, monitoring a parameter output from the condition sensor, recording a parameter output minimum value, calculating a parameter difference, calculating a rate of change of the parameter with respect to time, and indicating the presence of a target gas is detected in the gas volume when the target gas measurement exceeds a target gas measurement threshold value and the parameter difference is less than a parameter difference threshold value.
