    Abstract: A fuel filter monitoring method includes receiving pressure signals that are indicative of a pressure drop across at least one fuel filter of a fuel supply system configured to supply fuel to at least one fuel injector of an internal combustion engine and receiving a condition signal indicative of a condition of a fuel supply system, the condition signal being generated by one or more of a geographic location sensor, an altitude sensor, and/or a fuel temperature sensor. The method includes estimating a remaining life of at least one fuel filter of the fuel supply system based on the pressure signal and the condition signal and outputting a notification indicative of the estimated remaining life.

    Abstract: A filter identification system is disclosed. The filter identification system may include an identification component disposed in a filter mount configured to hold a set of filters that includes a first filter and a second filter. The identification component may include a sensor system that may include a first sensor configured to provide a first output signal corresponding to a state of the first sensor, and a second sensor configured to provide a second output signal corresponding to a state of the second sensor. The sensor system may be configured to provide a single output signal that is based on the first output signal and the second output signal and indicates a combined state of the first sensor and the second sensor.

    Abstract: In one aspect, a system for coupling a fuel rail of a common rail fuel system to an internal combustion engine may include an engine wall having a plurality of openings. The fuel rail may have a main pipe portion located outside the engine wall, and a plurality of outlet pipes monolithically formed with the main pipe portion, each of the plurality of outlet pipes extending into a corresponding one of the plurality of openings of the engine wall. The system may further include a seal located in sealing engagement with each of the plurality of openings and a corresponding outlet pipe.

The component identification system may include a sensor system that includes a first Hall-effect switch configured to provide a first output signal corresponding to a state of the first Hall-effect switch, and a second Hall-effect switch configured to provide a second output signal corresponding to a state of the second Hall-effect switch. The sensor system may be configured to provide a single output signal that is based on the first output signal and the second output signal and indicates a combined state of the first Hall-effect switch and the second Hall-effect switch. The component identification system may include a component that is to be identified. The component may include a first magnet configured to affect the state of the first Hall-effect switch and a second magnet configured to affect the state of the second Hall-effect switch.
