Abstract: Some examples described herein may involve determining an advance timing window between the valve opening or closing and a designated time that the valve is scheduled to open or close; determining a closing velocity of the valve; monitoring an engine speed of the engine; determining valve lash information based on the advance timing window, the closing velocity, and the engine speed, wherein the valve lash information identifies a magnitude of the valve lash or whether the magnitude of the valve lash associated with the valve satisfies a threshold; and performing an action based on the valve lash information.

Abstract: A system obtains sensor data that includes: first vibration data related to vibration of an inlet manifold of a pump of a hydraulic fracturing rig, pump speed data related to a speed of the pump, pressure data related to a pressure of an outlet manifold of the pump, second vibration data related to vibration of a packing of the pump, and leakage data related to a leakage of fracturing fluid by the packing. The system processes the first vibration data and the pump speed data to determine that an inlet valve of the pump and an outlet valve of the pump have not failed, and thereby processes the pressure data to determine that the packing of the pump has failed. The system determines, based on at least one of the second vibration data and the leakage data, a failure severity level associated with the packing of the pump.

Abstract: A rig management system is disclosed. The rig management system may gather, from a set of sensors, data that includes: vibration data related to vibration of a valve associated with a pump of a hydraulic fracturing rig during operation of the pump, and pump speed data related to a speed of the pump during operation of the pump. The rig management system may process the data to identify a trend related to the vibration data, wherein the vibration data has been normalized based on the pump speed data. The rig management system may determine a remaining useful life of the valve based on the trend and threshold data that identifies a set of thresholds related to the vibration of the valve. The rig management system may determine that the remaining useful life satisfies a threshold. The rig management system may schedule an operation to be performed on the valve.

Abstract: A method and a system for providing a model-based machine health prognosis are disclosed. According to certain embodiments, the method includes obtaining one or more performance parameters of a machine. The method also includes determining whether cavitation occurs based on the one or more performance parameters. If cavitation occurs, the method further includes simulating, based on the one or more performance parameters, the occurrence of the cavitation using a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model. The method further includes determining, based on output from the simulation of the cavitation, a remaining useful life of the machine using a finite element analysis (FEA).
