    摘要： A handheld electronic device including a first body, a second body, a sliding block and a linkage mechanism is provided. The first body is stacked on the second body. The sliding block is located between the first body and the second body, and is slidably coupled to the first body. The linkage mechanism is connected between the sliding block and the second body, by which while the first body and the second body are spread in a direction, the first body and the second body are approximately coplanar. Therefore, space in the device can be used efficiently. Besides, the device can be more miniaturized and operated more conveniently.

    摘要： Touch-sensitive control systems and methods are provided. The touch-sensitive control system includes a touch interface and a sensor. The touch interface includes a first zone and a second zone having an icon corresponding to a function. The sensor is disposed under the touch interface for detecting contacts on the physical interface. When a contact on the icon of the second zone is detected by the sensor, the corresponding function is activated. When a movement on the first zone is detected by the sensor, an operation corresponding to the function is performed according to the movement.

The method comprises the steps of sensing a touch on a first key, which has a plurality of characters marked thereon; confirming the touch and displaying the plurality of characters associated with the first key on a display unit; sensing a shifting motion of the touch on the first key; and selecting one of the plurality of characters associated with the first key in response to the shifting motion of the touch.     摘要： Item selection methods. Users touch, drag, and release contact along a touch-sensitive mechanism to select software hotkeys or menu items on a display screen. As soon as contact is made with and remains on the surface of the sensor, a menu appears on the display screen. Sustained contact and dragging along the touch-sensitive mechanism moves or scrolls through content items. When contact is terminated with the touch-sensitive mechanism, the highlighted content item is selected for launching.
