    摘要: A mobile node (MN), a take-over point of attachment (PoA) and handover methods thereof for use in a heterogeneous wireless network system are provided. The heterogeneous wireless network system comprises a gateway, a first wireless network and a second wireless network which is heterogeneous to the first wireless network. The first wireless network and the second wireless network comprise the take-over PoA and an original PoA respectively. The take-over PoA and the original PoA have an overlapping service area. The MN receives a network service from the gateway via the original PoA so far. As soon as the MN enters the overlap service area, the MN builds a link with the take-over PoA in the data-link layer immediately so that the original PoA may handover to the take-over PoA without interrupting the network service.

    摘要: A mobile node (MN), a WiMAX base station (BS), a Wi-Fi access point (AP) and a handover method therefore, for use in a heterogeneous wireless network system, are provided. The heterogeneous wireless network system comprises a gateway. The WiMAX BS and the Wi-Fi AP can interchange messages with each other via the gateway. There is an overlap service area between the WiMAX BS and the Wi-Fi AP. The MN accepts a network service, which is provided by the gateway, via the WiMAX BS. When the MN enters the overlap service area, it may handover to the Wi-Fi AP without interrupting the network service so that the gateway may provide the network service for the MN via the Wi-Fi AP.

    摘要: A femtocell, a communication method for the femtocell, and a computer program product thereof are provided. A network system comprises the femtocell, a base station, and a femto gateway. The base station connects to an Internet via the femto gateway, and the femtocell initially connects to the Internet via a backhaul network. After the femtocell detects the backhaul network being in a disconnection status, it switches to a user equipment (UE) mode. Then, the femtocell uses the UE mode to build a connection with the base station so that the femtocell is able to connect to the Internet via the base station and the femto gateway.

    摘要: A femtocell, a base station, a femto gateway, and communication methods thereof are provided. The femtocell is connected to the femto gateway via the base station. The femtocell turns off its RF transceiver when the RF transceiver is idle for a predetermined time interval. When the base station determines that a mobile station enters its signal coverage, the base station transmits a notification signal to the femto gateway. After receiving the notification signal, the femto gateway transmits a turn-on signal to the femtocell via the base station. After receiving the turn-on signal, the femtocell turns on its RF transceiver and transmits an acknowledgement signal to the femto gateway. Since the femtocell only turns on its RF transceiver when a mobile station needs its service, the femtocell consumes less power. In addition, interferences between femtocells can be reduced.

    摘要: A mobile station, an access point, a gateway apparatus, a base station, and a handshake method thereof for use in a wireless network framework are provided. The wireless network framework comprises a first wireless network comprising the access point, and a second wireless network comprising the gateway apparatus and base station. There is an IP security tunnel between the access point and the gateway apparatus. When the mobile station handovers from the first wireless network to the second wireless network, it transmits a master session key to the gateway apparatus via the access point and the IP security tunnel. Additionally, when the mobile station handovers from the second wireless network to the first wireless network, it transmits a master session key to the access point. As a result, the authentication time, which is needed in handover procedure between the first wireless network and the second wireless network, is reduced effectively.
