A beryllium borate fluoride salt nonlinear optical crystal is represented by molecule formula Mbe2BO3F2, wherein M is Rb or Cs. The crystal is grown by melt salt method, comprising the following step, mixing beryllium borate fluoride salt with flux at appropriate ratio, rising to 750-800° C., and keeping at constant temperature, then cooling to 2-10° C. higher than saturated temperature to obtain a elevated solution; putting seed crystal on seed crystal pole into the elevated solution, rotating the seed crystal pole, cooling to saturated temperature, and then cooling slowly; raising the obtained crystal above liquid level and cooling to room temperature, then obtaining the present nonlinear optical crystal. The crystal has nonlinear optical effect, broad transmittance wave, adsorption edge of ultraviolet lower to 150 nm, doesn't deliquesce, isn't soluble to diluted hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, and has good chemical resistance. The present crystal satisfies ultraviolet laser frequency-conversion requirements, can be used to make nonlinear optical device, make the second, the third, the forth, the fifth, or the sixth harmonic output device of Nd:YAG realized, and also can be used to harmonic output devices of other laser, to output tunable coherent light equal or down to 266 nm.

A fluoroberyllium borate non-linear optical single crystal is represented by a molecular formula of MBe2BO3F2, wherein M is Rb or Cs. The crystal can be grown by the flux method comprising the steps of mixing a fluoroberyllium borate compound and a flux in proportion, heating the mixture up to 750-800° C., keeping at this temperature and then cooling it to the temperature of 2-10° C. above the saturating point to obtain a fluoroberyllium borate solution at high temperature; putting the seed crystal fixed on the end of a crystal hanging bar into the fluoroberyllium borate solution at high temperature, rotating the crystal hanging bar, cooling the melt solution to its saturating point, then cooling it again slowly, pulling the obtained crystal out of the solution surface, cooling it to room temperature, then obtaining the present fluoroberyllium borate non-linear optical crystal. The crystal has nonlinear optical effect, broad transmittance wave and UV cut-off edge at 150 nm; neither deliquesces nor dissolves in dilute hydrochloric acid or dilute nitric acid; and has good chemical stability. The present crystal is applicable to the need of harmonic generations in the UV range and can be used to make nonlinear optical devices, achieve the output device for the second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth harmonic generations of Nd:YAG laser. They can be also used in harmonic generation devices of other laser wavelength and to generate coherent light with wavelength at or less than 266 nm.

The coupler comprises: a KBBF family crystal with two smooth surfaces; transition layers each of which is deposited on respective one of the two smooth surfaces of the KBBF family crystal; and a pair of prisms each of which optically contacts with respective one of the activated transition layers. The present invention further provides a KBBF family nonlinear optical crystal-prism coupler that comprises: a KBBF family crystal with two smooth surfaces; a pair of prisms each of which has a smooth surfaces; first transition layers each of which is deposited on respective one of the two smooth surfaces of the KBBF family crystal; and second transition layers each of which is deposited on a smooth surface of respective one of the pair of prisms, wherein the first and second transition layers are integral by optical contact. The present invention belongs to the field of optoectronics. The main content of the present invention is to determine the optimum cut-orientations of ReCOB crystal frequency-doubling devices. For an example, the cut-angles of the YCOB crystal for 1064 nm are &thgr;1=(65.9±5.0)°, &phgr;1=(36.9±5.0)° or &thgr;2=(66.3±5)°, &phgr;2=(143.5±5)°. The present invention has solved the problem of low frequency-doubling conversion efficiency in the prior technique. The frequency-doubling technique of the present invention has advantages of high frequency-doubling conversion efficiency and low energy dissipation, and is useful for the application of the ReCOB crystal.

The present invention relates to nonlinear optical crystals of compound Na3La9B8O27 and producing method and uses thereof. From the Na3La9B8O27 compound, large size single crystal of Na3La9B8O27 could be prepared by flux method. Na3La9B8O27 crystals are non-hygroscopic, and possess stronger nonlinear optical effect and good mechanical properties. They meet the requirements for the frequency conversion of blue—green wavelength lasers and could be used to prepare nonlinear optical devices.

The present invention relates to prism-nonlinear optical crystal couplers for frequency conversion, including M pieces of nonlinear optical crystal and one coupling prism stuck to the incident surface or/and exit surface of the crystal by optical stick or a matching liquid. The coupling prisms are the same triangle prisms of right triangle prism, equilateral triangle prism, or inequlateral triangle prism, or are different triangle prisms. It is hopeful to obtain frequency 6th harmonic output.
