    Abstract: Dynamic spectrum access mode based on station capabilities is provided by categorizing functionalities of Access Points (APs) and mobile stations (STA) in a wireless network; identifying interference induced by external signaling devices on channels in the wireless network; calculating an impact factor of the interference based on proximity of the external signaling devices to the wireless network, a pattern of the external signaling devices, and an extent of overlap with frequencies used by the external signaling devices and the wireless network; and in response to identifying a given STA that is paired with a given AP in the wireless network, wherein the given STA and the given AP are both categorized as being capable of both multilink communications and preamble puncturing, assigning network resources for the given STA to communicate with the given AP via one of multilink communications or preamble puncturing based on the impact factor of the interference.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an MLD AP that attempts to avoid roaming of STAs within its coverage area when one of the links of the STA is about fall out of the coverage area of the MLD AP. When the MLD STA moves in a way that puts one of its links on the verge of a coverage area, its servicing MLD AP attempts to reroute traffic to other in-range links of the STA if a TID-to-link mapping is in place that permits the rerouting. If no such TID-to-link mapping is present, then the MLD AP attempts to reassign traffic to one of the in-range links if one of the links has an acceptable quality of service and can handle the traffic on the out-of-range link. If these attempts fail, then the AP causes the MLD STA to roam to a nearby MLD AP.

    Abstract: Aspects described herein include an exclusionary approach for basic service set (BSS) color selection and assignment in a network. A network controller for a network selects a radio associated with an access point (AP) under management of the network controller and determines a potential set of BSS colors for the radio. The network controller then removes/excludes a set of BSS colors that impacts the radio from the potential set of BSS colors and updates or assigns a BSS color for the selected radio using the potential set of BSS colors, minimizing the chances that the assigned BSS color will cause an overlapping BSS color condition in the network.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes an access point with an adjustable scan radio and a method of operating the access point. The access point operates a scan radio to determine first and second sets of metrics for packets detected by the scan radio with a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) greater than first and second RSSI thresholds, respectively. The access point also operates a service radio to determine a third set of metrics for packets transmitted by the service radio and determines a first weight and a second weight based on the third set of metrics. The access point further applies the first and second weights to the first and second sets of metrics to produce first and second sets of weighted metrics and adjusts the service radio based on the first and second sets of weighted metrics.
