摘要: In one example, a first base station entity provides, to a second base station entity, a first indication of a reference signal that is transmitted by a first user equipment that the first base station entity is serving. The first base station entity obtains, from the second base station entity, a second indication of whether the second base station entity has detected the reference signal. Based on the second indication, the first base station entity determines whether the second base station entity is within a range of the first user equipment.

摘要: Dynamic Open Radio Access Network Radio Unit (O-RU) sharing between multiple tenant Open RAN Distributed Units (O-DU) may be provided. A Near Real Time RAN Intelligent Controller (nRT-RIC) may receive tenant policies for a first tenant and a second tenant. The nRT-RIC may then determine initial sharing templates for the first tenant and the second tenant based on the tenant policies. The nRT-RIC may send the initial sharing templates to a first tenant Distributed Unit (DU) and a second tenant DU. The nRT-RIC may receive operating metrics from the first tenant DU and the second tenant DU. The nRT-RIC may then determine operational factors based on the operating metrics. The nRT-RIC may alter an allocation of resources between the first tenant and the second tenant based on the operational factors. Finally, the nRT-RIC may send the altered allocation of resources to the first tenant DU and the second tenant DU.

摘要: Techniques presented herein may provide Distributed Unit (DU) failover techniques for a virtualized Radio Access Network (vRAN) architecture. In one example, a method may include maintaining, by a management node for a vRAN, service information for a plurality of distributed unit components for the vRAN in which the service information identifies, at least in part, service characteristics and failover rules for the vRAN. The method may further include determining a failure of a particular DU component of the plurality of DU components; and reassigning one or more particular RUs currently assigned to the particular DU component to one or more other DU components based on the service characteristics maintained in the service information and particular failover rules identified in the service information that are associated with each of the one or more particular RUs that are re-assigned.

摘要: Presented herein are techniques to prevent and/or minimize user equipment (UE) service disruptions in a virtualized Radio Access Network (vRAN) architecture. In one example, a method may include establishing, via a central unit of a vRAN, a first radio connection for a UE via a first cell belonging to a first shared cell for the vRAN; determining that the UE is dual connectivity capable; instructing the UE to perform measurements for one or more other cells belonging to one or more other shared cells that have available capacity; obtaining measurement information from the UE for the one or more other cells; determining, based on the measurement information, a second cell among the one or more other cells having a highest measured signal strength; and establishing a second radio connection for the UE via the second cell belonging to the second shared cell.

摘要: A radio access network (RAN) of a neutral host network (NHN) provides communications in a plurality of small cells, and is a shared resource with shared access by a plurality of mobile network operators (MNOs) via a multi-operator core network (MOCN). A base station maintains a neighbor list of small cell frequencies of neighboring small cells of a small cell, and broadcasts, to a user equipment (UE), a system information message which includes the neighbor list. The base station additionally maintains a plurality of operator-specific neighbor lists of one or more macro-cell frequencies of one or more neighboring macro-cells, where each such list is associated with a respective one of a plurality of macro-cellular networks of the MNOs. The base station transmits, to the UE, a message including a selected one of the operator-specific neighbor lists associated with an identified one of the mobile network operators of the UE.

摘要: System, methods, and computer-readable media for switching a dynamic radio of a single RU between Radio Access Technology (RAT) protocols based on a Software-Defined RAN intelligent controller (SD-RIC). The SD-RIC efficiently assigning RAN resources by converting a radio access point to either 5G or Wi-Fi based on the load conditions and the number of users seen on the network, so that it appropriately servers the customer and end devices. To determine the load conditions may be based on active users on a particular cell, and then the resource utilization cue is a connection latency. A single radio unit includes a primary radio and a secondary radio, each being independently tuned. The primary radio is static while a secondary one can be influenced based on the conditions, turning into N-RU or Wi-Fi.
