摘要: A method including causing current to flow from a first electrode of an intra-cochlea electrode array to a second electrode of the intra-cochlea electrode array at a plurality of temporal locations, measuring, at a third electrode and a fourth electrode of the intra-cochlea electrode array, a voltage induced by the flowing current at the plurality of temporal locations and determining that a change between the voltage measurements at the third electrode and the fourth electrode has occurred from the first temporal location to the second temporal location.

摘要: Diagnosing and treating presbycusis (age related hearing loss) includes measuring basilar membrane stiffness. In an example, a low frequency component of an electrocochleogram stimulation signal is used to bias a region of the basilar membrane, the results of which are used basilar membrane stiffness. The resulting measurement is used to measure a subcomponent of presbycusis. Further, the measurement can be combined with known diagnostic methods to reveal or distinguish other origins of hearing loss such as strial presbycusis, sensory presbycusis, neural presbycusis, and cochlea conductive presbycusis. The relative contributions for each of the diagnosed origins of hearing loss can be determined.

摘要: A method of evaluating a neural response, comprising applying electrical stimulation to a recipient, obtaining from read electrodes read data resulting from the applied stimulation, obtaining an artefact model based at least in part on the read data, and obtaining neural response data by comparing the read data to the artefact model.

摘要: Presented herein are techniques for detecting/determining the presence of a target biological response via a clustering of the phase angles of one or more frequencies associated with the target biological response. The techniques presented are also directed to techniques for using the target biological response detection for closed-loop control.
