摘要: A method including causing current to flow from a first electrode of an intra-cochlea electrode array to a second electrode of the intra-cochlea electrode array at a plurality of temporal locations, measuring, at a third electrode and a fourth electrode of the intra-cochlea electrode array, a voltage induced by the flowing current at the plurality of temporal locations and determining that a change between the voltage measurements at the third electrode and the fourth electrode has occurred from the first temporal location to the second temporal location.

摘要: An exemplary sound processor is configured to maintain data representative of a frequency allocation table that maps frequencies in an upper region of an audible frequency range of a recipient to a plurality of electrodes located within a cochlea of the first ear, direct a cochlear implant to apply standard electrical stimulation representative of frequencies in an audio signal that are within the upper region to the cochlea of the first ear by way of the plurality of electrodes in accordance with the frequency allocation table, and direct the cochlear implant to apply phantom electrical stimulation representative of frequencies in the audio signal that are within a lower region of the audible frequency range to the cochlea of the first ear by way of a most apical electrode and one or more compensating electrodes included in the plurality of electrodes in accordance with a phantom electrode stimulation configuration.

摘要: An illustrative scalar translocation detection system directs a loudspeaker to apply acoustic stimulation to a cochlear implant patient while an electrode lead is inserted into a cochlea of the cochlear implant patient. The system detects a first evoked response to the acoustic stimulation while an electrode is positioned at a first location in the cochlea and detects a second evoked response to the acoustic stimulation while the electrode is positioned at a second location in the cochlea. Then, based on at least one of an amplitude change or a phase change between the first and second evoked responses, the system determines that a scalar translocation of the electrode lead from one scala of the cochlea to another scala of the cochlea has occurred. Based on this determination, the system also notifies a user that the scalar translocation has occurred. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

摘要: A method for adjusting a hearing device comprising: providing a user profile (42) of the user comprising actual user information (44) and a fitting history (47) stored in a database (34) of a fitting system (32), wherein the fitting history comprises fitting information (46, 46′, 46″) of at least one previous fitting session, in which previous fitting session the hearing device (10) or a different hearing device was adjusted for the user; determining a user experience value (54) of the user, wherein the user experience value (54) depends on the actual user information (44) and the fitting history (47); determining sound processing parameters (30) for the hearing device (10) based on the user experience value (54); and applying the determined sound processing parameters (30) in the hearing device (10), such that the hearing device (10) is adapted for generating optimized sound signals based on the applied sound processing parameters (30).
