Abstract:
A roller bearing of very small axial extension and with sliding annular elastic seals is provided for forming a connection joint. Opposing shoulder rings project orthogonally beyond the guide and rolling track of the bearing outer race, which race is of rectangular cross-section. The rings are held in position by the two cheeks of the female part of the joint that is to be formed. Annular elastic seals, moreover, cooperate under axial action with the sides of the bearing outer race. Preferred embodiments of the seals and of the shoulder rings are also provided.
Abstract:
A system for disengageably coupling a rotor body to the shaft of rotary machines, in particular gas turbines and rotary dobbies, in which the coupling surface of said shaft is a cylindrical surface provided all the way round with longitudinal sharp-edged grooves of very small depth, they being uniformly distributed equidistantly to form a grooved cylindrical stub the interior of which comprises a frusto-conical bore cooperating with corresponding frusto-conical plug rigid with one end of a pull rod to lock the cylindrical coupling surface of the shaft against the cylindrical coupling surface of said rotor body by radial interference.
Abstract:
A gas turbine, in which the rotor (9) of the power stage (5) is supported by a hollow shaft (10) in a cantilever fashion. The hollow shaft (10) has a pair of forged hollow frustoconical ends (11, 12) made of case-hardened and milled steel supported by bearings (19, 20, 20') and connected together by a hollow central tube (13). A stud (15) extends through and from the hollow shaft (10) and has threaded ends (15', 15"). The threaded end (15') releasably secures one end of the hollow shaft (20) into a correspondingly threaded portion (16) of the rotor (9) and the threaded end (15") is threaded into a nut (17) which cooperates with the other end of the hollow shaft (10) to releasably tighten the one end of the hollow shaft (10) to the rotor (9) and place the stud (15) under tension. The turbine also has a 3-cam system (26) which can be inserted into a circumferential groove (25) of the rotor (9) to centrally support the rotor (9) as the stud (15) is released, and gear means (22, 23, 24) for taking the drive from the power shaft (10) without increasing the bulk of the assembly.
Abstract:
A locking system for locking in position the blades in the stator case of an axial compressor, wherein all of the blades are subjected exactly to the same locking load and can rapidly be assembled and disassembled when necessary. The system is especially suited for axial compressors which are required to operate in a dusty environment.
Abstract:
A device for driving the ring levers that control the keys of a high-speed rotary dobby. In the device, a metal rocker armature is hinged to each lever along the axis of symmetry of the device. The axis passes through the fulcrum about which the levers rock. The levers have at their lower ends teeth that cooperate with corresponding grooves in two digging tracks that move with a reciprocating motion and in mutual opposition perpendicular to the axis of symmetry. The upper rocker armature surface, moreover, cooperates with one of two overlying electromagnets that are arranged symmetrically about the axis of symmetry.
Abstract:
A telescopic joint for repairing underwater pipelines laid at a great depth in which an annular sheath of steel having a yield point of not more than one half that of an outer sleeve of the joint is welded onto an inner cylinder, to create with the inner cylinder an annular chamber or interspace, the cylinder-sheath-sleeve assembly being guided in its telescopic movement by an inner tube welded coaxially to an end of the outer sleeve. The interspace is connected to an oil pump which under adequate pressure can cause the steel sheath to expand, to the extent that it yields, to interlock with the outer sleeve.
