摘要:
A wire printing head of ballistic type comprises a front guide fixed to a carriage and in which the printing wires are mounted in an axially slidable manner. The electromagnets for actuating the wires have their respective cores mounted inside a tube of non-magnetic material. In order to obtain high heat dissipation, the electromagnet cores and windings are embedded in a resin block which fills the interior of the tube. The exterior of the tube is also provided with a set of cooling fins. The electromagnet armatures are mounted on a rear cover which is connected by a screw to a part of the front guide, which in its turn is housed in a compartment in the resin block. Shims are disposed between the front guide and group of electromagnets, and their number can be varied in order to modify the distance of the ends of the printing wires from the platen.

A wire printing device comprises a plurality of printing wires, each one associated with a corresponding driving electromagnet and a frame which is constituted by a plate folded in order to have a central portion, on which are mounted the electromagnets, and a pair of tongues which support guide elements for the printing wires. The gap between armature and core of each electromagnet can be regulated by a screwable element which determines the stroke of the armature and of the associated wire.

A ballistic type wire printing head comprises a metal front support (11) for guiding the printing wires (23) and supporting a group of actuating electromagnetic units (37, 39, 41) associated with the wires. The armatures (41) of the electromagnetic units are pre-assembled on a disc (40) of plastics material. A rear cover (59) which is also of metal encloses the electromagnetic units and in its interior supports spring spider (58) which co-operates with all the armatures of the electromagnetic units. The electromagnetic units have a common internal, ferromagnetic support (35) from which heat is conducted to the front support (11) and cooling fins (25). In a second embodiment, the printing head also comprises a second group of electromagnetic units associated with another series of printing wires. In that case, an intermediate metal member acts as a cover member for the first group of electromagnetic units and as a support for the second group of electromagnetic units.

A chromatographic medium comprises thioether ligands bound to a solid cross-linked polymer matrix. The polymer is an organic polymer and the medium is hydrophilic. A method of manufacturing the media is also described. The media are useful in the chromatographic separation of components from solution, and in particular for the interseparation of platinum group metals.

Each needle of the printer has an associated electromagnet with a generally elongate movable armature having a first end and a second end which can selectively push the needle during printing as a result of a pivoting movement within a step formation facing the electromagnet. The step formation divides the armature into first and second portions facing the first and second ends respectively, and faces the respective electromagnet in such a position that the second portion of the armature at least partially faces the electromagnet.

A printing device comprising a printing head having 18 wires actuated by a corresponding number of control electro-magnets for writing on a recording support symbols and characters in conformity with dot matrices. The writing ends of the wires are aligned along a single line, the slanting of which relative to the direction of movement of the carriage is variable. With the writing ends vertically aligned the height of the 18 wires is equal to that of two lines of writing, as a result of which it is possible to print two rows of characters simultaneously. By inclining the head and suitably selecting the speed of movement it is possible to print a line at a time with high definition dot matrices.

A wire printing device comprises a frame removably mounted on a carriage which can move parallely to a platen. On the frame is removably mounted a guide block of resin material which guides a plurality of printing wires individually actuatable by a plurality of electromagnets, mounted on the frame. For an easy assembly of the printing device, a terminal guide is removably mounted on the frame for guiding the printing wires in proximity of the platen. Moreover, between the terminal guide and the guide block, a lubricating pad is disposed at contact with the printing wires and an oil container, mounted on the guide block, is connected through a wick to the pad for holding it constantly impregnated.

A cartridge for an inked ribbon for printing machines, in particular wire printers, comprises a container and a pair of rollers for the feeding of the ribbon. The container comprises a storage zone, in which an inked ribbon is disposed in loops and is distributed at random, and a guide zone which surrounds the printing head of the machine. The guide zone comprises a series of ribs which twists a section of the inked ribbon through 180.degree. to form a Mobius loop. The rollers are free to move radially in corresponding seats of the container and are able to engage a pair of pins of the machine. One pin is a motor pin and rotates one of the rollers, and the other pin is a pressure pin which engages the other roller and is urged by a spring against the motor pin. The pressure pin causes the ribbon to be nipped between the two rollers to be fed by the motor pin.

An inked ribbon of a high-speed printer for office machines is wound on two spools connected each one with a corresponding electric motor. The ribbon is transferred stroke by stroke from the feed spool to the take-up spool with a substantially constant tensioning force. To this end an oscillating lever is disposed between the two spools and, cooperating with the ribbon, forms a loop thereof under the action of a tensioning spring. The oscillating lever in correspondence of a minimum and of a maximum of the ribbon loop cooperates with a pair of microswitches which alternately stop and actuate the electric motors in manner that the ribbon is transferred alternately from the feed spool to the loop and from the loop to the take-up spool under the action of the tensioning spring. A changeover device alternates the function of the two spools when the ribbon is fully wound on the take-up spool.
