摘要： A rounded end on a pivoted arm impacts a print medium through an ink ribbon to form a printed dot on the print medium. For printing, a wire drawn by an electromagnet acts on the arm between the pivot axis and the rounded end. A plurality of arms and electromagnets are spaced apart along a lateral row and mounted on a carriage for reciprocal lateral translation over a distance approximating the space between arms to print an entire horizontal row of dots forming a portion of a character line. Arms are driven separately or in combinations. The gap in the electromagnet is simply fixed to reduce power requirements.

摘要： A stylus printing head comprising a number of electromagnets which operate the printing styli and which are clamped on a conical carrier by means of a clamping device. The carrier comprises cradle-shaped, resilient supports for each of the electromagnets. The resilient supports compensate for differences in expansion of the electromagnets, the carrier and the clamping device in reaction to temperature variations occurring. The resilience of the supports is obtained by means of slots in the carrier which enable the use of a plurality of carriers in the same printing head.

摘要： A printer comprising an impact device which is provided with an impact member which is electromechanically driven and whose position or speed is measured by means of a transducer in order to obtain a speed signal which is compared with a reference signal in a comparator. The signal output of the comparator is connected to a signal input of an electrical actuation device for driving the impact member, the actuation of the drive being terminated only after a stop signal has appeared on the signal output of the comparator. An adapted speed of the impact member is obtained in all circumstances in a printer in accordance with the invention.

摘要： A dot matrix printer including a single printhead having two columns of print wires, the wires in one column being used to print only odd numbered dot columns on a record member and the wires in the other column being used to print only even numbered dot columns on the record member. In one embodiment the wire columns are spaced apart a distance equal to an even number multiple of the space between two adjacent dot columns and the wires in each column are then energized alterntely as the printhead traverses the dot column positions. In another embodiment the wire columns are spaced apart an odd number multiple of the space between two adjacent dot columns and the wires in each column are then energized simultaneously as the printhead traverses the record member.

摘要： A wire printing device comprises a frame removably mounted on a carriage which can move parallely to a platen. 摘要： A driver circuit for energizing solenoids to actuate print wires wherein the solenoid operation is such as to rapidly move the print wire into impact direction and permit rapid return thereof. The drive circuit provides for an external determination of the solenoid drive time. A transistor having a current limiting resistor coupled thereto drives the solenoid. Current amplification means is coupled to the imput of the transistor and its input, in turn is controlled by a voltage regulating semiconductor device for maintaining constant current through the solenoid. Capacitance means coupled to the inductor through diode means provides a discharge circuit for the solenoid. A capacitor cooperates with the solenoid inductance to form a resonant circuit enabling the current through the solenoid to decrease in a short time period and prevent generation of high voltages during reverse conduction of the inductance. Control circuit means preventing energization of the solenoids during cutoff of the solenoid power source.
