A bypass is provided that directly connects the air-fuel mixer upstream of the compressor to the intake manifold, providing the air-fuel mixture to the intake manifold during engine startup.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for correcting fueling commands. For example, the method and system may calibrate an engine operating in a steady-state mode by determining a plurality of accuracy errors associated with a fueling rate based on a plurality of sensor measurements. The method and system may determine fueling rate correction data during on-line operation of the engine based on the plurality of accuracy errors. The on-line operation of the engine may comprise operating the engine in a transient mode at a first period of time and a steady-state mode at a second period of time. The method and system may control at least one fueling valve during operation of the engine using a corrected fueling command. The corrected fueling command is based on the fueling rate correction data.

Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus use infrared spectrometry onboard an internal combustion engine running on a natural gas fuel to detect characteristics of the fuel. At a site having a plurality of natural gas engines, detection of natural gas fuel components and concentrations of the components also is conducted at the site upstream of the point of intake of the natural gas fuel to one or more of the engines. Operating parameters of the engine or a plurality of the engines may be controlled on the basis of the detected composition of the natural gas fuel.
