Abstract: Provided is an optical film that can suppress rainbow unevenness when viewed with the naked eyes without increasing the in-plane phase difference. The optical film has a low-refractive index layer on a plastic film, the plastic film is a biaxially stretched plastic film with an in-plane phase difference of 2500 nm or less, the low-refractive index layer is located on the outermost surface, and the optical film has a region in which ΔEab satisfies specific conditions, wherein the ΔEab is calculated from the differences between the L* value, the a* value, and the b* value obtained by measuring a laminate 1 including the optical film, the polarizer, and the surface light source under specific conditions and the L* value, the a* value, and the b* value obtained by measuring a laminate 2 including the polarizer and the surface light source under specific conditions, respectively.

Abstract: The present disclosure addresses the problem of providing an optical plastic film such that rainbow unevenness when viewed with naked eyes and blackout when viewed with polarized sunglasses can be suppressed without any axis alignment or increase in the in-plane phase difference. Disclosed is an optical plastic film satisfying the following conditions 1 and 2: when a large sample with a size of 200 mm×300 mm is cut out from a plastic film, the large sample is divided into 30 small samples of 40 mm×50 mm, a region of 30 mm×40 mm obtained by excluding 5 mm from each edge of each small sample is subdivided into 47,000 or more regions, and an in-plane phase difference of each subdivided region is then measured, a percentage of small samples in which an average of the in-plane phase difference of each region measured is 50 nm or more and 1,200 nm or less, among the 30 small samples is 50% or more; and when the 30 small samples are processed in the same manner as in condition 1 and an angle of slow axis of each subdivided region of each small sample is measured, a percentage of small samples in which a standard deviation a calculated from the angle of slow axis of each region measured is 0.8 degrees or more, among the 30 small samples is 50% or more.

Abstract: Provided is an optical film that can eliminate rainbow unevenness when viewed with the naked eyes and provide favorable color tone uniformity when viewed at an oblique angle. This optical film has a low-refractive index layer on a plastic film, the plastic film has a slow axis that is an axis with the largest refractive index in a plane, and a fast axis that is an axis orthogonal to the slow axis in the plane of the plastic film, and the low-refractive index layer is located on the surface of the optical film. Linearly polarized light is incident, under predetermined conditions, from a surface on a side opposite to the low-refractive index layer of the optical film, and transmitted light of the linearly polarized light is used to measure the a* value and b* value of the L*a*b* color system at 11 measurement points with different angles. The measurements at the 11 measurement points are used to calculate a sum of square of a difference in a* between adjacent measurement points and square of a difference in b* between the adjacent measurement points. The sum was calculated for each of 10 adjacent points. The optical film has a ΣT, which indicates a total of the above sums, within a predetermined range.
