    Abstract: A Power over Ethernet (PoE) adaptive powering system includes a powered device that identifies a first operating mode in which the powered device is currently operating, determines a first power amount that is required to enable the first operating mode in which the powered device is currently operating, and transmits a first power amount request message that requests the first power amount via a power/data connection. The adaptive PoE powering system also includes a powering device that is connected to the powered device via the power/data connection, and that receives the first power amount request message via the power/data connection, and transmits the first power amount via the power/data connection to the powered device.

    Abstract: Presented herein are systems and methods to determine whether a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server in DHCP snooping environment is a trusted device without requiring trusted port configuration. In one or more embodiments, a DHCP snooping-enable switch/router adds an indicator to a message intended for a DHCP server, thereby notifying the DHCP server that the DHCP switch/router is enabled for or capable of “detection of trusted DHCP server.” The DHCP server includes a unique trusted identifier in its reply that the DHCP switch/router uses to verify whether the DHCP server can be considered a trusted device.

    Abstract: An information handling system may include at least one processor; and a memory; wherein the information handling system is configured to manage a network that includes a first virtual link trunking (VLT) node, a second VLT node, and a plurality of devices that are communicatively coupled to the first VLT node via a first set of links and to the second VLT node via a second set of links, wherein the managing includes: detecting that the first VLT node has malfunctioned; detecting that the first VLT node has recovered; and after the first VLT node has recovered, preventing traffic over the first set of links until determining that all information needed to forward the traffic has been synced between the first VLT node and the second VLT node.
