Abstract: A battery management system includes a monitoring device and a controller. The monitoring device is arranged in a housing accommodating a battery. The monitoring device monitors the battery and acquires battery monitoring information that includes information indicating a state of the battery. The controller performs wireless communication with the monitoring device and executes a predetermined process based on the battery monitoring information. The monitoring device holds imperfect information that is battery monitoring information indicating failure of data transmission/reception between the monitoring device and the controller. The monitoring device retransmits information corresponding to the imperfect information from next time the battery monitoring information is transmitted.

Abstract: A battery management system includes a monitoring device and a controller. The monitoring device is arranged in a housing accommodating a battery, monitors the battery and acquires battery monitoring information that includes information indicating a state of the battery. The controller performs wireless communication with the monitoring device and execute a predetermined process based on the battery monitoring information. The controller transmits a request for battery monitoring information to the monitoring device. The monitoring device transmits the battery monitoring information to the controller in response to the request. The controller determines whether missing of the battery monitoring information has occurred based on a correlation between the battery monitoring information acquired from the monitoring device via wireless communication and relationship information held by the controller related to the battery monitoring information.

Abstract: A battery monitoring device is applied to an assembled battery having a plurality of battery cells connected in series, the battery cells including a first battery cell and a second battery cell. The battery monitoring device includes: an acquisition unit configured to acquire, during charging or discharging of the battery cells, a battery parameter of each of the first and second battery cells, the battery parameter of each of the first and second battery cells being a terminal voltage across the corresponding one of the first and second battery cells or an impedance of the corresponding one of the first and second battery cells; and a state calculation unit configured to calculate a difference between the acquired battery parameter of the first battery cell and the acquired battery parameter of the second battery cell, and calculate a battery state of the battery cells based on the calculated difference.

Abstract: A battery remaining quantity estimation apparatus estimates a remaining quantity of a secondary battery based on a charging parameter correlated with charging time of the secondary battery and a rate of change of a voltage of the secondary battery relative to the charging parameter. This estimation apparatus determines whether a predetermined condition is met. The predetermined condition is that an amount of change in the charging parameter from the start of charging of the secondary battery until when the rate of change of the voltage becomes a maximum value is equal to or less than a predetermined amount of change. In response to determining that the predetermined condition is met, the estimation apparatus estimates a remaining quantity corresponding to a portion between two minimum values of the rate of change of the voltage during charging of the secondary battery as the remaining quantity of the secondary battery.
