Abstract: The invention relates to an optical measuring method for the three-dimensional detection of the surface of an object using an optical recording unit. The optical recording unit is moved relative to the object during a first measurement time interval, height maps are successively detected by the recording unit at a recording frequency, and at least some of the detected height maps are each added to an overall height map and displayed. The recording frequency is regulated by control signals during the measurement time interval. The control signals are generated spaced apart in time and for the purposes of producing each control signal, a statistic for the quality of the height map is determined for the respectively last detected height image and used for producing the control signal. The statistic is the overall intensity and/or the maximum intensity and/or the contrast and/or the number of extracted data points and/or a quality of extracted data points and/or the signal-to-noise ratio and/or the contrast of an additionally generated color image.

Abstract: The invention relates to an optical measuring method for three-dimensionally capturing the surface of an object by means of an optical capturing unit, wherein the optical capturing unit is moved relative to the object during a first measurement time period, the object is illuminated by the capturing unit with an illumination beam having a light intensity, height images are captured by the capturing unit in succession at a capturing frequency, at least some of the captured height images during the measurement tune period are added to form a total height image and the total height image is displayed, and the light intensity and/or the capturing frequency are controlled during the measurement time period by control signals, the control signals being produced at time intervals during the measurement time period and each control signal being produced on the basis of at least one sensor signal of a temperature sensor.

Abstract: A method of imaging a dental object using a dental camera comprising the steps of: recording a plurality of three-dimensional optical images of a dental object using a dental camera; determining whether an overlapping area, formed by at least a partial overlap of the plurality of three-dimensional optical images, satisfies one or more recording requirements; and generating an acoustic sound during the recording using a sound generator; wherein the sound serves as a feedback for the user and imparts to the user information (i) about the current status of a recording of the images and/or (ii) about recording requirements of the dental camera; wherein a speed of movement of the dental camera relative to the object is determined by (i) using a motion sensor on the dental camera or (ii) by analysis of the measured images; and wherein the acoustic sound is generated as a function of the determined speed of movement.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for recording individual three-dimensional optical images to form a global image of a tooth situation comprising an upper jaw and a lower jaw. A first 3D model of a first subsection of the upper jaw and a second 3D model of a second subsection of the lower jaw are produced from the individual images. Subsequently, a geometric positional relationship between the first 3D model and the second 3D model is determined, said positional relationship being determined by using a lateral image and/or using a contact pattern. Said lateral image comprises an image area which comprises at least part of the first subsection of the upper jaw and at least part of the second subsection of the lower jaw. Said contact pattern comprises several contact areas between the upper jaw and the lower jaw. Said contact pattern is measured by means of an occlusion paper.
