Abstract: Combustion of waste materials in a fluidized bed reactor containing a bed of fluidized sand featuring the provision of auxiliary air injecting means or air jet devices mounted in the reactor wall in such a manner as to establish close to the bed a zone of intense turbulence, effecting simultaneous horizontal dispersion and combustion of said material in said zone substantially without after-burning.
