摘要： An improved optical switch allows for the testing, calibration and monitoring of optical switch points in an optical switching matrix. A test column and a test row of additional switch elements and optical paths enable the improved optical switch to provide testing, calibration and monitoring of each optical switch point in the optical switch matrix using a test input source and a test output receiver. The improved optical switch may also be used to test for the presence of light at any input and to inject a test signal into the matrix in order to test for the presence and quality of light at any output.

摘要： Imaging systems and methods are provided. One exemplary system incorporates multiple lenses that are individually configured to receive visible light from an object to be imaged, and to direct this light upon a corresponding sensor array. Luminance information is then derived from signals generated in one or more of the sensor arrays. When chrominance information is desired, an optical filter is interposed between a lens and the corresponding sensor array. The mosaic pattern contained in the optical filter is tailored to provide advantageous chrominance information. One or more such filters with different mosaic patterns may be employed. The luminance and chrominance information obtained from the sensor arrays are combined to generate an image of the object.

摘要： A print controller with simplified video data storage operation. A single microprocessor provides a controller with a start address and a start command. The controller monitors a stream of digitized video data as it fills a two part serial register in a video random access memory ("VRAM"). As each successive part of the serial register is filled, the controller writes the contents of the filled part of the serial register to the VRAM. Upon receipt of a signal indicating the end of the image, digitized video data remaining in the register is written to the VRAM. Images are effectively streamed in, as opposed to the line by line storage of images used in known print controllers.

摘要： An emulated hard key that emulates a key of a user-selected keyboard is generated on a reconfigurable keyboard. In one exemplary embodiment, the reconfigurable keyboard has an array of microchambers. Each microchamber is operable to change from a first height to a second height. A keyboard emulator controller controls the array of microchambers to set a first group of microchambers to the second height. When set to the second height, the first group of microchambers collectively emulates a first key of the user-selected keyboard.

摘要： An optical switch having liquid or vapor bubbles at switching sites operates with a fluid pressure less than the vapor pressure of the liquid. This negative pressure differential reduces the energy required to maintain a bubble at a switching site. Local heating provides the energy to create or maintain a bubble and activate a switching site, and turning off the heating collapses the bubble and deactivates the switching site.
