摘要： A wireless information communication system, such as a paging network, that provides caller identification information transmitted from the public switched telephone network to a pager, PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), or personal communication device carried by a page-receiving communicant. The system may include a textual or synthesized voice query to verify the telephone number and/or name information that was derived from caller identification information received, and may also prompt a caller to enter other optional data such as alternative caller-identifying information, call-back information or message information. The wireless communication system then transmits at least one of the caller identification information and the optional data to a page-receiving communicant. A cellular communication system may also transmit a paging message containing caller identification information or optional data to a cellular radiotelephone device. The transmitted paging message may include digital data representative of the caller identification information that is encrypted or encoded, and can be used to output a dialing signal or used for other purposes from within the cellular radiotelephone device.

摘要： Pictures are transmitted to a wireless picture phone with caller ID from a message originator and used by the message recipient to identify who is to sending the picture. In one embodiment the pictures are sent to a message center along with the caller ID of the message originator, with a caller ID and picture transmitted from the message center to the picture phone. The picture message may be encrypted, compressed or encoded. Additionally, the received caller ID may be used by the message recipient to place a call to the message originator using a cellular or wireless network.

摘要： A telecommunication device comprising a base unit and a cordless handset, wherein said telecommunication device is operable in a plurality of modes of operation. The base unit includes: (1) a ring signal detection module communicatively coupled to a telephone network; (2) a voice communication channel also communicatively coupled to said telephone network; (3) a wireless communication transmitter module; (4) a wireless receiver module; and (5) a controller for executing program instructions. The cordless handset includes: (1) a ringer module; (2) an ear piece; (3) a microphone; (4) a talk request command input device; (5) a wireless communication transmitter; and (6) a wireless communication receiver. The modes of operation include a talk request mode of operation, wherein (1) a ringing signal is received at said base unit; (2) said base unit transmits a wireless signal to said cordless handset; (3) said cordless handset receives said wireless signal; from said base, and initiates said local ringer module; (4) said base unit counts a predetermined number of rings; (5) said base unit initiates an off-hook condition in response to detection of a predetermined number of rings; (6) an outgoing message (OGM) is played at said base unit; (7) actuation of said talk request command input device is detected; (8) said base unit receives a wireless talk request signal (TRS) from said cordless handset, initiates an OGM end detection means, and continues to play said OGM; and (9) upon detection of end of said OGM by said OGM end detection means, said base unit inhibits the start of an incoming message (ICM) means and connects the calling party with the called party at said cordless handset.

摘要： The system comprises an off-premises voice or fax mail system and an on-premises CPE device that can periodically interrogate the telephone line to monitor for signals indicating that a voice or fax message has been received at the off-premises message system. The on-premises CPE device contains, or is connectable to, an incoming message storage means, an automatic dialing means, a message counter means, and a means for establishing an off-hook/on-hook condition with the telephone line. When a call comes in while the telephone line is busy, the call is directed to an off-premises message center where a message is stored. Then, the central office of the telephone network generates a special signal such as a stutter dial tone to be transmitted to the called party location upon the next off-hook condition after the previous call has been completed. Upon detection of a special signal generated on the telephone line that indicates a message has been received, the CPE device automatically establishes communication with the message system, and retrieves the message for storage and later review by the called party at the CPE device. If the called party happens to go off-hook during this automatic operation, the called party can monitor the message received while recording the message or can listen to the message and stop recording/transfer of the message while the CPE device is returned to a standby condition. Alternatively, a called party hookswitch at the CPE can be disabled until the message recording/transfer is complete.
