摘要： An axle assembly includes a shaft supported for rotation within an axle housing. The housing is mountable to a trailing arm pivotal relative to a vehicle. The axle shaft includes a hub mounted on a first end for mounting of a wheel. A rotor is mounted to a second portion of the axle. The second portion of the axle shaft and rotor is mounted at a position inboard of any portion of the wheel rim. Mounting of the rotor outside any portion of the wheel rim allows the rotor, caliper, and actuator to be configured without constraints on size and cooling concerns inherent with brake assemblies positioned within the circumference of the wheel rim.

摘要： A brake assembly includes a caliper, a brake pad, an actuator to force the brake pad into engagement with a rotor and an adjuster mechanism to compensate for wear of the brake pad. The adjuster mechanism includes a rotating component that rotates substantially in proportion to wear of the brake pad and is manually operable to deadjust the adjuster mechanism when replacement of the brake pad is required. The rotating component is operably coupled to a pad wear indicator mounted on the caliper which visually indicates an amount of brake pad wear.

摘要： A caliper for a fixed twin rotor disc brake includes a relatively fixed body, two yokes movable axially with respect to the body, formations defined on the yokes for receiving four brake pads for respective application to rotor sides, and an actuator adapted to urge the yokes relatively axially. One of the yokes is operable to urge two of the four brake pads in a first axial direction, the other of the yokes is operable to urge the other two of the four brake pads in a second, opposite axial direction. The four brake pads are positioned on a first side of the actuator in the first axial direction.
