Abstract:
Pulling eyes are provided with integrated wiring systems suitable for installing conductors or cables. The pulling eyes may include body portions that define interior cavities that are sized to snugly engage outside portions of the conductors or cables. The body portions are sized to be deformably crimped onto the outside portions of the conductors or cables. The pulling eyes may also include head portions joined to the body portions, with the head portions defining apertures for receiving a strength member for installing the conductors or cables. These apertures place the interior cavities in communication with the exteriors of the pulling eyes.
Abstract:
An integrated evaluation and simulation system for ground combat vehicles interactively evaluates concept design decisions and design requirements in the context of an operational ground combat vehicle. The combat effectiveness of a ground combat vehicle may also be concurrently tested by virtual simulation. A computer system is programmed to implement a causal network model comprising an integrated collection of analysis models for creating a virtual representation of a ground combat vehicle. The integrated evaluation and simulation system includes a user interface operatively coupled to at least the computer system to selectively input data into the causal network model and receive information therefrom, and at least one virtual simulation system. The system can further include either a virtual simulation system operatively coupled to the causal network model or, as part of the computer system, a virtual simulation system interface to communicate with a separate virtual simulation system.
Abstract:
A duplex electrical receptacle providing ground fault protection and mountable in an ordinary wall outlet box and including a metal support plate formed to telescope over a container of electrical insulating material and be affixed thereto and to a wall outlet box with the container having therein a pair of bus-bar conductors of identical configuration and reversibly positioned, flexible spring-like connectors coupling a power source to the bus-bar conductors, a plugable printed circuit board with associated electrical circuitry and components for detecting a ground fault condition, and a re-set guide assembly responsive to the circuitry of the printed circuit board for effecting connection and disconnection of a power source and the bus bar conductors of the receptacle.
Abstract:
A fiber optic splice and fiber holder and a housing for one or more of such holders. Each holder includes spool-type apparatus for removing slack in two fibers joined by a splice. Each housing accommodates a plurality of such holders, each of which is readily inserted into and removed from the housing.
Abstract:
Ammonium zeolites of extremely low alkali metal content are prepared by a process of potassium ion exchange followed by ammonium ion exchange. Zeolite X or zeolite Y that contain a significant amount of sodium are contacted with a potassium salt solution under conditions that provide a substantial exchange of potassium for sodium. The potassium enriched zeolite is then contacted with an ammonium salt solution so that the ammonium ion replaces the sodium and potassium ions. The resulting ammonium zeolite X or Y contains considerably less than 1% alkali metal calculated as Na.sub.2 O.
Abstract:
Apparatus for selectively interfacing first optical fibers with second optical fibers including a stationary housing having a connector panel and storage cassettes, and a slideable drawer having a splice tray and a fiber and pigtail take-up enclosure.
Abstract:
A splice cradle for use with fiber optic splices to hold such splices in place. Pairs of leaf springs are bowed towards each other to firmly engage a splice inserted therebetween.

Abstract:
Pulling eyes are provided with an integrated lug for electrically coupling conductors or cables to terminating equipment. The pulling eyes may include body portions that define interior cavities that are sized to snugly engage a bare metal portion of the conductors or cables. The body portions are sized to be deformably crimped onto the bare metal portions of the conductors or cables. The pulling eyes may also include head portions joined to the body portions, with the head portions are assembled to pulling ropes or cables for installing the conductors or cables. The pulling eyes may further include integrated lugs electrically attached or coupled to the body portions and configured to electrically couple the conductor to terminating equipment.
